9 No se disculpe por ser analfabeto

El señor Ruiz era un profesor de literatura muy famoso. Un día otro profesor de la Universidad, amigo suyo, lo invitó a cenar a su casa. El señor Ruiz no sabía dónde vivía su amigo y este le escribió la dirección en un papel diciéndole en qué parte de la ciudad estaba su casa. Aquella noche el señor Ruiz se dirigió a casa de su amigo, pero era bastante difícil encontrala. Al llegar a una calle vio que el nombre de esta estaba muy alto y escrito en letra pequeña, y como era un poco corto de vista no podía leerlo.
Por esto se dirigió a Tobías que por allí pasaba y le pidió que tuviera la amabilidad de leerle el nombre de la calle. Tobías se acercó, miró con atención, dio vairas vueltas y finalmente le dijo al profesor con toda sinceridad:
-La verdad es que a mí me pasa lo mismo que a usted: tampoco sé leer.

9 Don't apologize for being illiterate

Mr. Ruiz was a very famous literature professor. One day another professor at the University, a friend of his, invited him to dinner at his house. Mr. Ruiz did not know where his friend lived and he wrote the address on a piece of paper telling him in which part of the city his house was. That night Mr. Ruiz went to the house of his friend, but it was quite difficult to find her. Arriving at a street, he saw that its name was very high and written in small letters, and since he was a little short-sighted, he could not read it.
For this reason, he turned to Tobias who was passing by and asked him if he would be kind enough to read him the name of the street. Tobias approached, looked carefully, turned around several times and finally said to the teacher with all sincerity:
-The truth is that the same thing happens to me as to you: I don't know how to read either.
