    Isn't the challenger a Tank from the early 90s? Why would its blueprints be some closely guarded secret? Armor composition isn't a big deal anymore, because active kill systems are the primary means of defense in 2021, so some blueprints from the 90s that dont even feature chobham bricks aren't going to be useful to any foriegn agent.

    Hopefully Gaijin model the CR2 better because that mantlet is dorchester composite and has some meat behind it. In game CR2 should be Tanking hits to the mantlet with only the gun being taken out. I know its only a game but meh.
    In reality a Tank is dead when hit from 1000m by a equal enemy.

    Long time ago anon on /k/ analyzed Challenger 2 frontal armor penetration by RPG-29, and with help of scale model he deduced that lower frontal plate is actually like 80-100mm and huge chunk of ERA on top of it. So don't expect blueprints because for a western Tank such "armor" is shameful as fuck.

    He measured distance from driver's hatch to front plate and there is simply no possibility of something like Abrams huge amor chunk being there, even if the model is wildly inaccurate. They put thin plate in front and used ERA to achieve that 1 meter RHA equivalent that MBT supposed to have. Challenger 2 has no amror.

    He claimed falsely to be a Tank commander to add weight to his "expertise" and edited the page of the AESP to say it was "unclassified" [sic] when in reality the document is still restricted, again to add authority. Game devs realised his claims were full of _ and he was posting stuff anybody with two braincells to rub together (not a requirement to join the REME) would realise is a breach of OPSEC and likely to land anybody possessing it, in trouble.

    tldr: someone threw their military career down the toilet because of autism over their favourite pay-to-win videogame

    The low tier ones are pretty trash aside from the ho-ro but once you get to the ones that are packing 75mm guns you're good to go. Cas is pretty mediocre unless you're doing pure air superiority then it's pretty good. The aviation tree is pretty good too.

    Definitely try put the Ki 61 Hein (_ bf109), Ki43 ostu, J2M2 Raiden and the zero mod 22 with the 15.5 turn time. All of those planes are extremely fun to fly and rape other nations when used right.

    Alot of people don't know but the Ki43 Ostu has a 16 second turn time (only .5 slower) but has a better top speed, handling, guns, climb rate and energy retention. It also has two 20mm guns with enough ammo to kill 2 to 3 planes depending on your trigger control. Most Japanese aces flew ki43's

    Also if you haven't already bind your W and S keys to the elevator to turn faster in a vertical rather than mouse aiming. And if you rebind your flaps you can use landing/take off flaps to get hilarious turn times in planes that shouldn't turn that well (the ki61 hein). The only negative is make sure you don't rip your flaps off

    Fact of the matter is you're not going to find the additional ~250mm worth of additional protection to slap on top of what WT already guesstimated to make any meaningful difference whatsoever.

    Fitting composit armors into small volumes is not easy. And Challengers doesn't use ceramic armor it uses NERA armor which is 0.5 of RHA kintec resistance at best.
    So mantle effective LOS is 100-200mm RHA and most probably it is just steel.
