海外社团 | 墨尔本大学科幻奇幻鉴赏协会介绍
2020年2月,高校科幻平台启动了『国际高校科幻社团交流计划』,我们希望通过线上采访的形式,结交国际科幻社团同好,向中国科幻圈介绍国际高校科幻的发展现状,促进彼此之间的深入了解。
我们委托日语翻译田田老师首先向13所日本高校科幻社团发出采访邀请函,并陆续收到了回信(相关回信可查看《海外社团》栏目)。2021年年末,河流向英语地区部分海外高校通过邮件取得联系,接下来,高校科幻平台将陆续刊登这些回信。

A:我们和你们面对了同样的问题。由于新冠疫情的影响,很多人都不敢来参加我们组织的线下活动。除此之外,我们还得应付社联的那帮把一些简单的事情复杂化的傻X(bureaucracy),但是我们还是对今年抱有希望的。哦对了,我们还可以给你一个小提示就是:没有人能拒绝好吃的、小礼物还有免费的东西。比如说搞一个附带零食的电影放映会或者搞一个知识竞赛(trivia night),第一名有奖品的那种,这样大家就会来参加了。当然,我不太清楚你们的资金状况还有你们那边的疫情状况,但是这些活动的形式会把同学们从他们的窝(hiding places)里面拽出来。

Greetings
I apologise for the late reply.
I can't use enough words to express how excited we, at FASFAS, are with this, we are amazed to see your unity with all the other associations and would love to help in any way we can.
The Fantasy and Science Fiction Appreciation Society (FASFAS) was founded in 1992. The current president, or Overlord (as we call it), is the one writing this email, José Burunzuzian and I'll be in charge for a year, as our cycle is once a year.
Our number of members fluctuate but we usually have between 150 and 200 members. As defined by the rules of all University of Melbourne clubs and societies we are required to erase all records of memberships at the start of the year and collect them again. Usually we get a high influx at the beginning of the year up until mid may, when the number decreases and we get up to five new members a month for the rest of the year.
Our committee is divided in 5 areas, Management (Overlord, First Officer, aka vice president, and Scribe, aka Secretary), Finance (Master of Coin, aka treasurer), Marketing (Communications officer), Events (Jester, aka Events Officer) and Publications (Chronicler, aka publications officer). We all sort of do a bit of everything, specially myself (overlord) as I am tasked with overseeing it all.
We have scheduled a meeting to discuss this year's activities so as soon as we have decided I'll send you another email with more certain information on that.
We have had the same issues as you face, with covid many people have been discouraged to participate in many of our events. Additionally we must follow bureaucracy that sometimes makes things difficult but we are quite hopeful for this year. A good tip we can give you is that people are strongly drawn to food, gifts and free things, throw a good pizza party together with a screening or a trivia night with prizes for first place and people will come. Of course I don't know your situation with money and the covid situation over there, to be honest we don't even know our situation with money or covid that well over here, but those types of events often bring people out of their hiding places.
I'm not sure if I have answered everything as you wished so don't be afraid to email us again and I hope we can keep this communication channel open.
