【全球通史读书笔记Ep6】谈谈目录单词要点（五）

今天开始聊目录第三页的部分重点单词，以后每次讲两到三个单词，重在坚持啦！——

Transition——

1. 看到-sion，想到conclusion，inclusion，confusion，知道是一个名词，而且很可能是一个抽象名词，表示过渡、变迁过程；

2. 文中搭配：Age of transition，表示过渡时期；

3. 名词搭配二：the transition from something/a period（A） to something/another period（B）从A到B的过渡；

4. 名词搭配三：ensure a smooth transition between something old and something new确保旧事物向新事物的平稳过渡；

5. 名词搭配四：remain a kind of state during the period of transition to something在向……过渡的时期保持某种状态。

6. 动词形式：transition，过渡、转变；

7. 动词用法：somebody transitions from one state/one activity to another某人逐渐转变状态/活动。

8. 名词形式二：transit，运输、交通、通过、转变；

9. 天文学家中：天体经过子午线或者望远镜视野的路线、小的天体通过大的天体的吸积盘的运动；

10. 名词搭配一：transit included包含运费；

11. 名词搭配二：something in transit运输中货物；

12. 名词搭配三：the transit lounge候机室；

13. 名词搭配四：the transit visa过境签证；

14. 名词搭配五：a transit system交通运输系统；

15. 名词搭配六：the city's/nation's public/mass transit system城市/国家公共交通系统；

16. 专有名词：City Transit Authority公共交通局。

Philosopher——

1. -er结尾，名词，哲学家；

2. 词源，古希腊语：“philos爱”+“sophos智慧、智者”，类似的词还有philologist语文学家、philanthropist慈善家。

3. 名词形式二：philosophy，哲学、思想体系、人生信条；

4. 名词搭配一：a whole spectrum of political philosophies一整套政治哲学；

5. 名词搭配二：one's philosophy of life某人的人生信条。

6. 形容词形式：philosophical哲学的、豁达的；

7. 形容词搭配：be philosophical about something对某事豁达达观。

8. 副词形式：philosophically哲学上。
