第七节 英语中的被动意义用主动形式表达

在上册中，已经提到英语中一些动词的主动形式表被动含义，为了加深理解被

动结构，这里再强调一下。

1. Rockets have found application for the exploration of the universe.

火箭已经用来探索宇宙。

可以转换成“Rockets have been applied for the exploration of the universe.”

2. The lack of privacy within the Chinese home finds its extreme expression in many

well-to-do families of North China.

中国家庭没有隐私概念，这在北方许多富裕家庭表现得极为明显。

3. Her feelings at last found expression in tears.

最后她用眼泪宣泄自己的心情。

4. The life style has found its growing popularity and acceptance among young

people.

这种生活方式已被越来越多的年轻人接受，并受到欢迎。

这一句可以转换成“The life-style has become popular and accepted by more and more

young people.”

5. This solution finds immediate welcome and acceptance among college students.

这种解决方案立刻在大学生中间受到欢迎。

可以转换成“This solution is welcomed and accepted by college students

immediately.”或 “This solution enjoyed immediate welcome and acceptance among

college students.”

6. While micro blogs are enjoying enormous popularity in China, another form of

blogging has sprung up in what is intended to be an innovation in the hottest

Internet service in the country.

当微博在中国受到广泛的欢迎之际，另一种形式的博客诞生了，是这个国家最热

的互联网服务的一种创新尝试。
