【全球通史读书笔记Ep11】谈谈目录单词要点（十）

今天结束目录第四页的重点单词——

race——

1. 有名词和动词两种词性，名词比较常见，但是动词的意思也比较重要。

2. 名词含义：竞赛、人种/民族/种族、种类；

3. 名词搭配一：a race between A and B A与B之间的比赛；

4. 名词搭配二：the race for something/to do something竞争某物/争相做某事，The race is on to do something人们开始竞相做某事；

5. 名词搭配三：the races赛马会；

6. 名词搭配四：the xxx race xxx人种，如Mongolian等；

7. 名词搭配五：the xxx races/a xxx race xxx的民族；

8. 名词搭配六：people of all races各个种族的人；

9. 名词搭配七：a race of cattle一种牛。

10. 动词含义：（使）参赛、（使）快速移动、（大脑）快速运转、（心脏）快速跳动、（发动机）空转；

11. 动词搭配一：race against somebody/something与某人/某物比赛，race somebody/smething与某人/某物比赛；

12. 动词搭配二：race an animal /a vehicle 赛某动物/赛车；

13. 动词搭配三：somebody/something races （somewhere）某人/某物迅速移动（向某处）——The days seemed to race past.时间瞬逝；

14. 动词搭配四：one's mind is racing脑筋飞转；

15. 动词搭配五：one's heart races心跳加速；

16. 动词搭配六：one's racing pulse急速跳动的脉搏。

17. 书中含义：显然是种族的意思啦！

regional——

1. -al结尾，形容词，表示区域的，类似的单词还有natural自然的、cultural文化的、personal个人的；

2. 形容词搭配：regional government/security地区政府/安全。

3. 名词形式：region，表示地区、（首都以外的）省、（身体）部位；

4. 名词搭配一：autonomous region自治区；

5. 名词搭配二：a remote mountain region边远山区；

6. 名词搭配三：the pelvic region盆骨区。

7. 书中短语：from regional to global history从地区历史到全球历史。

splendour/splendor——

1. 两种写法，一个意思，名词，表示，雄伟壮丽；

2. 名词搭配一：（somebody do something）in the splendour of a place/a building伴随着某地/某建筑内的华丽（开展某事）；

3. 名词搭配二：the splendours壮丽景色、恢弘气势。

4. 形容词形式：splendid，表示极好的、壮美的；

5. 形容词搭配一：get a splendid view somewhere某地景色怡人；

6. 形容词搭配二：stand in splendid isolation岿然独立；

7. 形同词搭配三：splendid scenery美景。

8. 书中含义：splendor of Moslem Empires穆斯林帝国的辉煌。
