2022年我见过最多的10个英文/雅思写作错误
上周我分享了10句有错误的英文句子。这些错误在最近的雅思写作中都很常见。没看过上次文章的话没关系，你可以现在看那10句话，然后尽量找出有错误的地方。
She is a high school student and she majors in science.
I back home immediately after work.
I usually read until 12 or 12:30 and then I take a nap at noon.
Apparently, if you run into the sea you will get wet.
I'm not very outgoing so I just have several friends.
My favorite actress is FanBingBing, I got to know her from a movie I watched five years ago.

接下来，我今天要告诉大家，这些句子的错误在哪里，为什么都是错误表达，以及分享正确的写法。
She is a high school student and she majors in science. (她是高中生，学理科的。)
这句话的错误部分就是'she majors in'。'to major in sth'的确是正确的英文，但是只有大学生会用。在一些国家，包括中国和英国，高中生选几个属于同一个领域的课。在中国通常就是理科或文科。很多国内的高中生以为正确地表达‘我学理科’或‘我学文科’的方式就是：I major in science/humanities。实际上，如果需要特别强调自己是理科还是文科学生的话，应该大概这样表达。'I'm a high-school student. Most/All of my subjects are related to science/humanities.‘
I back home immediately after work. (我一旦下班就回家。)
'back'不可以做动词。回家就是’to go back home'(回去)或'to come back home'（回来）。因此，正确的表达是: 'I go back home immediately after work.
I usually read until 12 or 12:30 and then I take a nap at noon. (我通常看书到直到12点或12点半然后在中午睡午觉。)
这句的错误地方是'at noon'。很多学生被中英词典误导了。在很多词典里，中午的翻译之一就是'noon'。因此大部分学生以为常听到的表达'at noon‘是指’在中午‘。其实'at noon'是指’12点整‘。12:30绝对不是'at noon'。’中午‘最好的翻译就是’around noon'。'Around noon'的意思是11:00到13:00的那个时段。正确的表达以上句子意思的方法是: I usually read until around noon and then I take a nap. / I usually read until 12:00 or 12:30 and then I take a nap.
Apparently, if you run into the sea you will get wet. (很明显，如果你跑进海里你会被淋湿的。)
在这句句子里，'apparently'那个词不正确。正确的单词是'obviously‘。很多学生以为那两个是同义词，但并不是。’Obviously‘是指’很明显‘。'Apparently'的意思更像’好像是‘或’我好像听说过‘或’我不确定，不过我认为‘。'Apparently'跟'obviously'不一样，它包含一定的不确定性。所以这句句子应该是这样表达：Obviously, if you run into the sea you will get wet.
I'm not very outgoing so I just have several friends. (我不是很外向，因此我只有几个朋友。)
'just'和'several'不配。有的学生以为'several'是指几个，其他学生因为听起来像seven，以为意思是大概七个。两个想法都不对。‘Several'的定义是3个以上，但是它的用处很像中文的‘好几个’。我们只用’several'表达自己要谈论的那个数量不少，或者够多，或者比以前估计的多那样的意思。由于这个原因，它和'just'或‘only'就不匹配。以上句子的正确表达是：'I'm not very outgoing so I just have a few friends.'
这里再提供几个正确的用'several’的例句：
I thought he was poor but actually he owns several houses. (我以为他很穷，但实际上他拥有好几栋房子。)
We were afraid nobody would come to the party but several people came.
(我们担心没有人会来参加聚会，但不少人来了。)
It's going to take us several months to solve this problem.
(我们要花好几个月的时间来解决这个问题。)
My favorite actress is FanBingBing, I got to know her from a movie I watched five years ago. （我最喜欢的演员是范冰冰，我从我5年前看过的电影了解到她。）
就像to know someone和to know of someone有不同的意思一样。to get to know someone和to get to know of someone也有重要区别。在用to know someone（认识某人）或to get to know someone (了解到某人)的时候，我们谈论的是自己在生活中认识过的一个人。用to know of someone(听说过某人/知道一个人)的时候，我们谈论的是我们实际并没见过面的人。to get to know of也很像。我们在解释如何听说过某人或某东西的时候会用'to get to know of'。例如说'I got to know of that beach from my friend'.(我从我的朋友那里知道了那个海滩)。再例如'I got to know of that singer from a video I saw.'(我是从看过的视频知道这个歌手的)。所以呢，原本错误的句子应该是这样表达:My favorite actress is FanBingBing, I got to know of her from a movie I watched five years ago.
I spend three hours finishing my homework every evening.
中文的‘完成’最准确的英文翻译是'to finish'或'to complete'。但是取决于想用的词语搭配是什么，中文的‘完成’也许不能被翻译成'to finish'或'to complete'。在表达‘完成工作’，‘完成任务’，’完成作业‘，’完成家务‘等意思的时候，用的动词应该是'to do'。'to do work/tasks/homework/housework 和 to finish work/tasks/homework/housework是两个不同的概念。to finish/to complete是指把已经几乎完成的工作做完。比如说，如果完成某个任务需要花费10个小时的时间，那么在那整整10个小时里你都在'doing that task'，在最后一个小时才可以说你在'finishing/completing the task’。
以上句子的正确表达就是: I spend three hours doing my homework every evening.
I spend a lot of time searching information related to my thesis.
这句有问题的部分就是searching information。找东西在英语是'to search for something‘。英文也有'to search something'那个表达，但是那是指在某一个地方寻找。在英文这句话'我在找手机，我已经在厨房里和在书包里寻找过。’是这样表达: I'm searching for my mobile phone, I've already searched (in) the kitchen and my schoolbag. 所以，原本的句子应该是这样写：
I spend a lot of time searching for information related to my thesis.
Many people like to go hiking to release the pressure. (很多人喜欢去远足为了释放压力。)
to release pressure也是个正确的英文词语搭配，但是我们不怎么在谈论人类的心情时会这么用。通常是在机械工程之类的领域里使用的。例如: open the valve to release the pressure (打开阀门以释放压力)。谈论人的心理状态时，如果想表达’释放压力‘这个意思的话，有两个主要的说法。第一个是'to destress'，第二个是'to relax'。所以，第九个有错误的句子应该是这样写：Many people like to go hiking to destress/relax.
It is significant to keep in contact with old friends.（跟老朋友保持联系很重要。）
significant和important的基本意思差不多一样，但是用处很不一样。important那个词很灵活，在几乎所有在中文表达‘重要’的地方，在英文里都可以用important。但significant只是在一些情况，特别是和一些特定的词语搭配时才可以用。如果随便地用'significant'来表达'重要‘的意思的话，会产生好多错误。这里就是significant通常出现的词语搭配，a significant event, a significant change, a significant increase, a significant decrease, a significant contribution, a significant amount, a significant number of, a significant challenge, a significant factor, a significant improvement, a significant majority。英语学生应该学会这些词语搭配，但是每次想表达’重要‘的意思时，如果不知道可不可以用significant，就应该总是用important。不要冒险，特别在你做雅思考试的时候。
所以第十句句子正确的表述应该是这样: It is important to keep in contact with old friends.
