道歉信

Dear Professor Smith(道歉的对象),

①I write with a bit of bad news—unfortunately, it looks like I will no longer be able to travel to Boston/attend the conference(原定计划、但不能做到的事情) next week(原定时间).

②Long story short, I will have to stay in Beijing for at least another two weeks to lead my team in the upcoming pitch competition/deal with an unexpected problem(因什么理由耽误原定计划). ③The organizers just pushed out an earlier submission option with a February 15th deadline./The problem is so serious that it needs to be solved as soon as possible.(必须要做的事情，解释不能按原定计划的理由)

④I’m really looking forward to catching up with you/attending the meeting(期盼原本的计划) and very frustrated by this wild card. ⑤But fortunately, I can most definitely make the trip/reschedule the conference/make that happen(再次约定这次没做到的事情) next month(改约的时间). ⑥Would that work for you? ⑦I apologize for this change and the inconvenience. ⑧Hope to see you soon!
