The Ion Cannon is a powerful Tau weapon mounted on large vehicles and starships.

The Ion Cannon itself operates by generating a stream of high-energy ionised particles and launching them at a target using an electromagnetic field. These particles react explosively with the target, transferring tremendous energy at the atomic level.  The resulting vaporisation only magnifies the amount of damage dealt, with starship-based models comparable to Imperial Lances.

离子炮本身的工作原理是产生一束高能电离粒子，并利用电磁场将它们发射到目标上。这些粒子与目标发生爆炸性反应，在原子水平上传递巨大的能量。由此产生的蒸发只会放大造成的伤害，安装在钛帝国星舰上的离子炮型号的威力与人类帝国星舰的光矛相当。
