On August 21, 2019, Beijing Winter Olympic Committee officially announced Shuey Rhon Rhon as the mascot for the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympic Games and unveiled the mascot on September 17. Shuey Rhon Rhon is inspired by the shape of the Chinese lantern with red as its main color.
