What I did do was try to make the right decision for me at the time whether or not it had ever been successfully done before.我所做的就是努力去做对当下的自己来说，正确的决定，不论这个决定是否有过成功的先例。

Oftentimes in any industry, people are looking for a precedent, or data that shows this idea is a good one or feasible one.通常来说，在任何行业，人们都习惯于找先例，或者数据，去证明某个选择或决定是好的、行得通的。

People want an example of something working before.人们总想着要走一条之前就行得通的路。

But I think the coolest ideas or moves or choices are the new ones.但我认为真正酷的想法，或者行动，或者选择，是有创新意味的。

The ones that set a new precedent.那种想法、行动、选择才是真正成为先例的。

I really, really want everyone to know, especially young people that...我真的希望每个人，尤其是年轻人们明白，

the hundreds or thousands of dumb ideas that I’ve had正是那些百个千个，在我脑海里闪过的，看似愚蠢的想法

are what led me to my good ideas.才让我有了所谓的好的想法。

You have to give yourself permission to fail.你必须允许自己失败。

I try as hard as I can not to fail ‘cause it’s embarrassing but I do give myself permission, too.

And you should, too.我也的确很努力得小心翼翼得警惕失败，因为那样会很丢人，但我也给了自己失败的权力。

So go easy on yourselves and just make the right choices that feel right for you.所以，对自己宽容一些吧，去做那些自己觉得正确的事情。
