第十一节 与介词“of”连用的形容词
与“of”连用的形容词从表达意义上可以分为以下两种情况。
11.1 与心理活动有关的形容词
下面这些与“of”连用的形容词基本上与心理活动有关。
1. be conscious of. 清醒的；明白的。
2. be aware of. 意识到的；觉察的。
3. be confident of. 感觉有信心的；有把握的。
4. be desirous of. 渴望的。
be desirous of peace. 渴望和平。
5. be patient of sth. 有耐性的；容忍的。
be patient with somebody. 有耐性的；容忍的。
6. be envious of. 嫉妒的；羡慕的。
7. be ignorant of. 不知道的。
8. be proud of. 感到光荣或得意的。
9. be sure of / about sth. 确信某事。
10. be certain of. 确信的；无疑的。
11. be oblivious of/ to. 不在意的；忘记的。
12. be scornful of. 蔑视的。
13. If you have a car you are independent of trains and buses.
如果你有辆车，你就不需要乘火车或公共汽车了。

24. be/ feel hopeful about/of. 抱有希望的

25. be intolerant of . 不宽容的；不能容纳异己的。
26. be apprehensive of . 不安的；担心的；忧虑的。
27. be doubtful about/of . 怀疑的；不能确定的。
28. be shy of. 慎于；对…踌躇
a.They are shy of speaking to one another. 他们彼此之间很少谈话。
b. Don’t be shy of telling me what you want. 你需要什么，尽管告诉我好了。
29. be enthusiastic of
I am enthusiastic of the job I do and enthusiastic of life.
我对自己的工作和生活充满热情。
30. be hard of. 做某事困难
Like me, she was blind—and was also hard of hearing. Quite a pair, the two of us!

31. I am optimistic of our future. 我对我们的前途表示乐观。
