A 2,800-year-old bronze carriage is giving Chinese archaeologists clues about how important ceremonies to welcome guests and celebrate victories were conducted in ancient China. Unearthed in 2014 in the city of Xian in China’s nortHWestern province of Shaanxi, the carriage measures over 3 metres (9.8ft) long, nearly 3 metres wide and 1.5 metres high. Remains found with the carriage indicate it may have been drawn by four horses, but not for everyday transport.
