高级汉译英及英语写作--系列讲座（四）
国内各类英语考试，英语作文字数要求一般不超过300字，而且分值所占比重较低，
所以没有太多的学生，包括老师去关注作文的质量。在作文批改者眼里，只要没有
语法错误，句子结构基本正确，就是一篇好作文。
事实上，真正的英语作文不是这么回事，就拿汉语作文考试来说，字数一般不
少于600字，大学生英语作文竞赛，字数不少于600字。因为字数少了，很难说清
自己的观点。当英语作文字数要求达到600字以上后， 作者必须要关注段落之间，
句子之间的过渡技巧以及句子是否符合
逻辑，时间允许的话，还要斟酌用词是否恰当。语法及句子结构只是一个基本要求，
也就是说，国内目前英语写作要求，包括高校的英语专业，仍处于低级阶段。

问题得到控制。
外国专家修改如下：

问题得到控制。
第一句，按照英语逻辑，“after years of effort”修饰“said”, 意思就是经过多年的努力
后，高才说这句话。顺序调整以后，“after years of effort”修饰后面的谓语“has been
brought under control...”。
思考题：
