1、如果since后面是

非延续性动作的过去时

，则表示“从这个动作

发生

以后（到现在）”，这时按照句意常规理解即可。

例如：

He 

has studied

 very hard 

since he came to our school

.

自从来到我们学校以后，

他学习非常努力。

2、如果since后面是

延续性动作或状态的过去时

，则表示“从这个动作

结束

以后（到现在）”，这时非常容易错误理解。

例如：

John is now with his parents in New York; it is already three years 

since he was a teacher

.

约翰现在和父母一起住在纽约；

自从他不当教师，

已经三年了。
