"The Ural Mountains are called "history´s oldest mountain range", and are one of the most famous anomalies of our time. From the Molyobka triangle to the Dyatlov Pass incident, to countless UFO and Yeti sightings, as well as a long record of people "disappearing" in this area. Few places on earth are so shrouded in mystery. Ever since the earliest russian mining expeditions, this region has yielded more and more strange evidence, the deeper people have delved into it."
Sverdlovsk Oblast, the eastern side of the Ural Mountains, Russia. A struggling industrial, central city huddles below a harsh, cold climate, which sends frequent blizzards of varying strengths across the region. Atop that the apocalypse came from somthing here. Altitudes in the area range from -50 to 770 meters. Recommended for experienced survivors.

Your orders from U.R.C. Commander Asinov are as follows: Hello Yuri, it is imperative that you send your mining team out to the east, exact co-ordinates will be issued soon.
I told you about the anomaly, and the results our researchers have uncovered. What you do not know, is that the Government is going to make use of these ores in special weapons testing. Yamantau, The old artillery bunker is being expanded and repurposed as a testing ground. I have been ordered to prioritise this mission.
As soon as my scouts return information on the locations, the ore is detected at, I need your full mining team to act fast and get as much of the ore, as you can, and transfer it to the research center.
Be warned that we have intercepted communications between the U.S. and some form of reciever located here in the mountains, so we suspect there may be spies in the area. Stay alert!
Once you have gathered enough Oh91, as per the instructions your team has been given, the research team will start refining the ore and shipping it to Yamantau.
Good luck, Chief Engineer, I expect you and your team to do your very best, for the Motherland! Commander Asinov out.

URC Labs communications readout - Classified Internal data. Lab Supervisor Peter reporting.
Initial tests on the radioactive ore/mineral we recieved from H.Q. have shown the most unexpected results. The compound seems to not only be emitting some strong form of radiation, but we have also detected chemical changes, some of which happen quickly. The first one took about a minute to complete.
We have the sample contained in the shielded chamber, but somehow we are getting strong radiation readings OUTSIDE the chamber, too. Requesting orders on how to continue. Many of the Lab technicians are uneasy about the situation. I am trying to calm them, but many of them are "scared out of their wits" about something, and it's not just the radiation.
I am requesting that you send us more military guards, as well as medical units and high-caliber weapons, as it might make my team more comfortable, if we are to go on testing this strange sample.
One of the lab technicians went crazy and opened the shielded chamber! We heard deep rumbling and saw lights flashing in the chamber, so Yuri rushed in and trapped whatever it was by closing the chamber door. We managed to seal the bottom floor off but have all taken a lot of radiation, I fear we will die, or turn, soon.
I found Yuri staring at the wall only to realise he had "turned". Had to put him down. I am on my last breath. I wish we had never started testing that sample...

Day 1 after the crash: My wound from the crash is pretty bad, but I am lucky to be alive, the others died when our aircraft hit the mast. Will try to get hold of HQ on the radio tomorrow.
Day 2 Radio is ruined, so I cannot contact HQ. Might be able to establish a new connection from this mast, although so far all I get is some short-wave music.
Day 3 Managed to salvage some food from a cottage nearby. Saw some people down on the track below the mast. Heard some horrible growling from the north-east.
Day 4 Went down to the cottage and found 2 survivors. One had been scratched, the other bitten, and they merely had bandages on their wounds. I told them a bandage wont stop it happening, that they will both turn soon.
Day 5 Found food, water and a friendly survivor at the Monastery, returned to find both the survivors at the cottage had turned. They attacked me as I neared the cottage. Killed one but the other bit me on the arm.
Not sure how much longer I will last, seen what happens to the infected. Tell my wife I love her. Kaptajn of Red first rank, Jasha.

After getting seperated from the others in a blizzard, I found Scout Beta, or his remains, in this cottage south of where we were heading.
I took a note from him, saying Scout Ceta had made it to the URC, but our orders were to go east, then north. Why did Scout Ceta go there?
I have found deposits of Oh-91, and I saw some white-haired creature off in the snow last night.
I shall attempt to locate the other scouts, and failing that, I will head north to the cave mentioned in the last report. But I still wonder why Ceta went south, what did he find?

The Mistress of the Copper Mountain
A young mining factory worker, "Stephan", meets a woman in unusual clothing. He realises that the woman is actually the legendary "Mistress of the Copper Mountain".
She orders Stephan to tell his bailiff, the "Stinking Goat", to stop mining the ores from all the mines in the Ural Mountains.
Stephan does as he is told and pays the price: he is flogged and sent to a deadly, collapsing mine pit. He is then saved by the Mistress herself.
She brings Stephan to her domain, shows him her riches and proposes marriage. Stepan honestly replies that he already promised to marry another girl, Nastyona.
The Mistress is both angered and delighted by his reply. She reveals that her proposal was a test of Stephan's honesty and integrity.
She presents a malachite casket filled with jewellery for Nastyona and lets the man go, making one final request that Stephan would forget about her.
Unfortunately, Stephan cannot do that. He marries Nastyona and lives with her for many years, but he is unhappy. One day he goes away and doesn't come back.
His body is later found lying by a large rock near the domain of the Mistress. The tale concludes with the words:
"It's a chancy thing to meet her [The Mistress], it brings woe for a bad man, and for a good one there's little joy comes of it". - Pavel Bazhov

I was part of a scout team sent east, to locate survivors and resources. Eveything was going to plan, until a heavy blizzard split the group up.
We had radio contact for a while, but couldnt locate each other. Last message I heard was 3 days ago, I fear the worst has happened for us all.
A foul creature attacked me a day after that, and I have a deep, infected wound. Im holding on for dear life.
Search this region of the mountains, for our intel indicates there must be something important here. Finish my mission, please. S.S. Delta, over and out.

Chief Engineer Yuri reporting. Sir! We have found another cave in the easternmost regions, seemingly filled with the anomly!
We started mining, but after a few hours, horrible creatures came as if from nowhere, out of the very rocks around us. My men tried to flee.
Many were lost this day, as the creatures overcame them, as the rest of us fled for our lives. Those of us that made it out alive are shaken to our bones, and now, many are refusing to go back.
I am lost for words, the ore glows so bright, and we know the importance, it holds, in the research and development of the weapon. I only hope my men can find the courage to press on with the work!
We will re-enter the cave, and do our best to ensure that enough of the ore is collected, but I have my doubts as to the courage of those left alive, faced with such horrors.
I do not know if we will even make it out of this cave again with our lives. Our radios stopped working, and I am writing this report by hand, hoping to send it by messenger, back to you.

Alone, again. Alek didn't make it, lost him in Shaytanka. I assume he has passed on, but i suppose i should still hold out hope of his return.
Still searching. Found this secluded cavern, seems safe enough. This old map has proven itself thus far. Apparently there is an old Monastery to the Northeast, sounds like a good place to settle down later, once i finish this...
From the intel ive managed to gather, it would appear that Lavr must have headed due West of here. Strange, the only thing in that direction is that accursed island...
I can't bring my old soul to believe Lavr actually went that-a-way, but i suppose it would be like him to brave the Anomaly...

Fell asleep, woke up to a giant spider attacking me, after a long struggle it ran away, but bit me several times, I am hurting all over.
Someone must get to Ceta, whatever he found, I think it is the thing Eduard sent us here to locate. But my wounds are too heavy, S.S. Scout Beta signing off...

We are setting up supports on the rocks above the platform to avoid landslides as we continue digging down.
This cavern isn't just unsafe, its downright deadly, i've lost two men to the slippery terrain already, and i can't begin to think how many we might lose in the prospecting drift if we continue digging.
They didnt even send in a survey team to scan the area, just sent us right in, why were they in such a hurry? i overheard some of the higher ups talking about some secret weapons-testing project, hmm...
The so called 'Magmatic' ore is unlike anything i have ever seen, it glows like hot coals, looks valuable. I see why they were in such a hurry now.
Some of my men have begun to feel ill, say they are hearing things and seeing visions of some 'Queen of the mountains'? could be the lack of oxygen down here, although i must admit, i've begun to believe them somewhat...

Our remaining mobile forces have moved to the east as commanded, but after finding the Research Center irradiated and over-run by undead, we are searching the region to locate any supplies we can.
Our scouts in the east and south report finding survivors, resources and caves, but we have lost contact with many of them in the last few weeks. We will try to locate them as soon as possible.
We are encountering more mutations and strange creatures, we were attacked by giant spiders again yesterday. The strange "lightning-ball" or "anomaly" we saw two days ago, has not been seen since.
We will continue to send reports. I hope we can return to Severouralsk soon with good news and more supplies. May god show his mercy on us in these times.

Trade agreement
Between the groups/individuals known as; Red Survivors, Alyona, Mikhail, Ex-Governor Eduard and Kirill "The Sickle"
All parties are bound to not bring harm to; Any of the other parties. Any property of said parties.
Trade is at each parties own discretion, and can take place anywhere, as long as the involved parties agree.
The agreed rate at the time of this agreement is; 1 scrap metal = 1 coin = 10 experience. Mikhail will deal with the money, others may deal with money, metal and commendation.
Agreement signed by all parties.

Brief history of the Yamantau region.
Tallest of the peaks amoung the Northeastern Urals, Yamantau remains one of the most storied, yet elusive mountains of the range.
Yamantau is a Bashkir name, which translates approximately to "Mountain of Evil." Countless tales have Arisen from this region, some akin to the tales of other nearby cultures, suggesting a common folkloric ancestor, others entirely unique amoung the lore of the Urals.
The legends of Yeti carry through of course, from other regions of the Urals, as well as countless modern fantasies of UFO and unexplained radioactivity. Of course, very few of these reports have any actual evidence beyond witness reports backing them up, so their validity is uncertain.
What is known however, is that there have been over 150 disappearances in the region in the past 80 years alone.
If you should decide to venture there yourself, you probably wont find much, but maybe, just maybe, something really is waiting for you out there, in the cold, unforgiving landscape... Waiting for you to uncover it...

当然会有从乌拉尔山其它地方跑过来的雪人的传说，还有无数现代的UFO传说以及难以解释的辐射。当然，这些报告中只有很少的有实际证据的支撑，因此它们的真实性有待考证。
但是已知的是，光是最近这80年中，已经有150人在这个区域失踪。
如果你打算独自进山探险，你或许什么也找不到，但是有可能，仅仅是有可能，有些东西就在那里等着你，在这寒冷、令人永生难忘的风景中......等待你去发掘......
