Check out a behind-the-scenes sneak-peek of Sky’s upcoming in-game event — Days of Mischief! This two-week-long event will be arriving in Sky next month, but here’s an early first look at what spooky stuff we’ve got cooking in development for Halloween this year.

We knew going into conceptualization that we wanted to make sure we had a couple of different cosmetic options to choose from to give players a sense of variety. One of our artists, Yui, came up with the idea of a crooked wicked witch hat that partially obscures an eye. We immediately fell in love with its mischievous charm, which set the direction for the event’s theme.
 
There were actually a number of different cape designs we were really excited about, but since we wanted to find an option that would pair well with the witch hat, we settled on a dark cape inspired by cobwebs.

Our other cape concepts were brighter in design, or had more contrast, but we wanted to cut down on the visual noise to create a more harmonious outfit that could still work with many other cosmetics. The end vision was a cape that, when outstretched, would look like a cobweb spread out across the Sky child’s cape.

Our intention with this year’s Halloween event was to make Days of Mischief accessible to all players. Everyone can participate in the event by visiting the ‘secret’ area on the ground floor in the Vault of Knowledge realm, where a friendly spirit will await to swift you and your friends through the barrier to join the spooky celebrations in the office. Spoiler alert: beware the Dark Dragon!
 

During the duration of this event, both the Mischief Witch Hat and Mischief Web Cape will be available for purchase in the in-game shop, and players will also be eligible to receive free spells of the two new Days of Mischief items to try out the new items. Make sure to visit the Sleepy Traveler’s Boat in Home to claim your spells once the event starts!
