Le duo   idéal qui compose le petit déjeuner se prend parfois à la maison, mais surtout   au café : debout au comptoir, si on est pressé, ou assis dehors en   terrasse, si on a du temps, avec le journal du matin.

Le   croissant doit être encore chaud, sorti droit de chez le boulanger,   légèrement croustillant à l’extérieur, onctueux à l’intérieur. Pour le café,   il existe des options : on le prend noir ou « expresso »   (surtout après le déjeuner), court ou allongé, parfois double, avec ou sans sucre.   On peut y mettre aussi une goutte de lait, c’est alors un « noisette »,   ou si l’on veut plus de lait, on demandera un « crème ».

Le   croissant est probablement d’orgine viennoise, mais les boulangers français   lui ont apporté cette texture feuilletée qui le caractérise si bien. Quant au   café, les Italiens en font incontestablement un bien meilleur. Toutefois,   rarement deux produits étranger ont été à ce point « naturalisés »   en France pour en faire un couple aussi réussi.

The croissant should be still hot,   straight from the baker, slightly crispy on the outside, smooth on the   inside. For the coffee, there are options: it is taken black or   "espresso" (especially after lunch), short or long, sometimes   double, with or without sugar. You can also put a drop of milk in it, it is then   a "nut", or if you want more milk, you will ask for a   "cream".

The croissant is probably of Viennese origin, but French bakers have given it that flaky texture that characterizes   it so well. As for coffee, Italians undoubtedly make it much better. However,   rarely two foreign products have been at this pint "naturalized" in   France to make such a successful pair.
