Equalizers are Tau ceremonial weapons typically carried in pairs by Ethereals. They are not only a badge of office, but also can be a potent weapon that contains a powerful disruption field able to shatter armor and bones.

A Honour Blade is a weapon carried by Tau Ethereals and Ethereal Guards for a number of uses.

Overview综述

The Honour Blade is mainly used as a symbols of their office, ceremonial weapons, and in self-defence. While each weapon is custom-made, they all feature a broad blade fitted to a long, lightweight metallic staff。

Ethereals use the blades primarily to settle disputes, engaging in lengthy, highly stylised duels that are more coordinated co-meditation than combat. The combatants dance and weave as if in a trance, their weapons flashing past one another scant millimeters and microseconds from causing terrible damage. Yet somehow, the dance is always bloodless, as if the Ethereals are in total union with one another. In truth, the combatants are engaged in a deeply spiritual duel, conducted at a level which none outside of their caste can discern. Some Ethereals carry their Honour Blades on the field of battle, not expecting to have to use them, but prepared to make a last stand against their foes nonetheless.

Honour Staves are carried by Tau Ethereals as a symbol of their authority, but in a tight situation they can also be used to bludgeon any enemies who come too close to them.

The Bonding Knife is a ceremonial knife that serves as part of the Tau ritual of the Ta'lissera, in which a group is bonded together through ritualistic cutting of their flesh.Following their ritual bonding the knife is then carried into battle by the team leader, although it is not designed for use in actual combat, and serves as a reminder of the sacred bond the group shares. Ta'lissera团结仪式

The Ta'lissera is a Tau ceremony which has been translated by Imperial xenolexicons as "communion" or "marriage." Tau who take part in the ceremony pledge support and community to one another and may address each other by their individual names. The bonds that these Tau swear to each other are much admired and seen as embodying the best aspects of the Greater Good. While the bond may be performed by any group of Tau, it is most commonly Fire Caste warriors or Earth Caste work teams who undergo this ultimate expression of respect for one another.
