PhD position in Algorithms
Technical University Munich
for 3 years, 100%, m/w/d, starting April 1, 2022.
A PhD position is available in the new group of Professor Andreas Wiese at the Department of Mathematics, Technical University of Munich which will be established in spring 2022. The group's research focus will be combinatorial optimization, Approximation algorithms, and dynamic algorithms.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a young and interdisciplinary team located at the Garching Campus of the TU Munich, with the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree whilst collaborating with other members of the group, as well as external collaborators. The position is a full-time position for 3 years, with the possibility of extension, paid according to the Federal German payment scale TV-L 13 (100% position). The actual salary depends on academic experience, family situation, tax classification, etc. Travel support for attending conferences, workshops, and summer schools is of course available.
The ideal candidate holds an excellent master?s degree in mathematics, theoretical computer science or a related area. Publications are an advantage. Solid English skills, both oral and in writing, are expected. In addition, the successful candidate is highly self-motivated and has a good ability to work both independently as well as in a team. Her/his activities will include conducting research with other group members and external collaborators, teaching, and participating in other activities of the group. Proficiency in German is not required.

The "Laboratoire d'Excellence" (LabEx) MILyon opens its annual campaign of postdoctoral fellowships in Lyon-St-Etienne in Mathematics, Computer Science and their interactions (including some aspects of theoretical physics).

Postdoc positions in quantum algorithms at IRIF
Description:
The Algorithms & Complexity group (https://www.irif.fr/en/equipes/algocomp/index) at IRIF (CNRS and Universit? de Paris), Paris, France, is offering multiple postdoc positions for 1 to 3 years to work on the theory of quantum computing. Special emphasis is on the development of quantum algorithms for optimization, machine learning, massive data, and cryptography. You will be working with permanent members Simon Apers, Iordanis Kerenidis, Sophie Laplante and Fr?d?ric Magniez, within a strong team of postdocs and PhD students. In case of interest, there will also be opportunities to collaborate with industrial partners. Starting dates are aimed around September 2022.

Open PhD position at the research group Theoretical Computer Science at University of Siegen, Germany (Lohrey, Markus)
Description:
A fully funded PhD/Postdoc position is available at the Chair of Algorithms for Intelligent Systems (Prof. Dr. Dirk Sudholt) at the University of Passau, Germany, starting from April 2022 (negotiable). The term is 3 years, with the possibility of an extension. The salary is based on Entgeltgruppe TV-L 13. In case a PhD degree has already been awarded and you meet fundamental civil service requirements, the position can be set up as an Akademischer Rat position(Besoldungsstufe A13). Applicants must be fluent in both German and English.
The research group focuses on the theoretical, algorithmic analysis of randomised or nature-inspired algorithms such as evolutionary algorithms, swarm intelligence and estimation of distribution algorithms.
What we expect：

The Computational Biology and Data Science group (Department of Mathematics) invites Applications for a Postdoc position in discrete and computational biomathematics with a focus on phylogenomics, relations between homologous genes, population genetics or general graph theoretical Approaches in life sciences.
