牛津大学客座教授: “旧引新”信息过渡流

在学术论文中,为了增加论文的逻辑性,作者经常使用一些连词,比如:however, furthermore等词。但今天我介绍的是“旧引新”方法Old-to-New Information Flow.下面举例说明:


(1)Research has shown that caffeine does indeed reduce sleepiness and can lead to better academic performance since students can spend more time studying. (2)Despite its effectiveness in counteracting sleepiness, caffeine can have a negative impact on subsequent sleep, which for many students may already be compromised. (3)Specifically, caffeinated veverages consumed near bedtime at night can prolong sleep onset and reduce sleep efficiency and depth, thus affecting both sleep onset and reduce sleep efficiency and depth, thus affecting both sleep quality and duration…研究表明,咖啡因确实可以减少嗜睡,并且可以提高学习成绩,因为学生可以花更多时间学习。 尽管咖啡因能有效对抗嗜睡,但咖啡因会对随后的睡眠产生负面影响,这对许多学生来说可能已经受到影响。 具体来说,晚上睡前饮用含咖啡因的饮料会延长入睡时间,降低睡眠效率和深度,从而影响入睡时间并降低睡眠效率和深度,从而影响睡眠质量和持续时间……


这里面“旧引新”的词汇是:
