下面扩展两个谚语：

hindsight is 20/20. 后见之明总是对的。

hindsight is anything but 20/20.事后回顾事件得出的经验也不一定完全正确。

首先20/20直接读作twenty-twenty。20/20 是“百分百正确”的意思。其实20/20是美国视力的说法。在美国，20/20代表完美视力，其中第一个数值越低，视力越好。

如果我们要说一个人是“马后炮”呢？hindsight是中性的，但接下来这个俚语就有贬义。

A "Monday-morning quarterback" is a person who criticizes things in hindsight.

美国橄榄球运动中quarterback（四分卫）是一个重要的得分角色。美式橄榄球比赛一般在周日晚上举行。所以“周一早上的四分卫”再怎么努力也无济于事。

【小课堂】“拉胯”是东北方言和北京话。胯读作kuà。“拉胯”即走路时腿脚沉重，引申出水平低、很菜的含义。
