支点① 承接首段首句

就地取材，文字接龙

我们挨着坐了下来，David不看我。

• 接：他低着头。/他眼睛往下看。
• He just lowered his head(, obviously in a low spirit).

几周后，当我几乎忘记比赛的时候，传来了消息。

• 接：我在比赛里面获奖了!
• I won the first place!

支点② 衔接第二段首句

就地取材，反向推导

颁奖典礼后，我去了老师的办公室。

• 前面衔接：我参加颁奖典礼，心想，我待会儿去找我的恩师!
• At the award presentation, l accepted the award certificate. At that moment, l couldn't help thinking of my teacher.

我看着David和其他选手一起走在起跑线上。

• 前面衔接：他起身，从我身边站起来，准备上场。
• Then he stood up, giving me a determined look. / He was no longer hesitant and got up to the starting line.
