some professors allow students who have not done well on graded assignments during a course to do additional assignments in order to improve their overall course grade , do you think it is a good idea ?

正面观点：

from my perspective , it is a great idea for professors to allow students who have not done well on graded assignments during a course to do additional assignments in order to improve their overall course grade for real .

here is my first reason ,

each and every student will be given a chance to achieve a high score in the additional assignment which is a part of human right , and they would be interested and motivated in doing academic work , for example ,....

secondly ,

there is no doubt that students would be thankful to professors who give them a second opportunity to shine , which is a way to develop a harmonious relationship between students and faculty members , for instance ,....

反面观点：

from my perspective , it is not a good idea for professors to allow students who have not done well on graded assignments during a course to do additional assignments in order to improve their overall course grade for real .

here is my first reason ,

it is kind of unfair for students who have worked hard and achieved a decent score on graded assignments during a course , which may lead to mistrust or misunderstanding between students and professors , for instance ,.....

secondly ,

it may boost a sort of fluke mind as well as laziness among students if they are aware that there is another opportunity to make up for where they fail to do well , which may be something unhealthy and helpless in the long run , for example ,.....
