Acetyl group octopeptide-3 is an elongated analogue of Akirelin, an oligopeptide consisting of eight amino acids that mimics the N-terminal of SNAP-25 protein. Clinical experiments have confirmed that octapeptide is a scientifically and reasonably designed anti wrinkle peptide active raw material based on the biochemical mechanism of human skin. It has become a popular cosmetic raw material for anti wrinkle use worldwide. Its efficacy can be comparable to that of type A botulinum toxin, but it avoids the drawbacks of botulinum toxin's mandatory injection and high cost of use.

机理

Neurotransmitters are synthesized in the neuronal cell body and stored in the Synaptic vesicle. When stimulated by the outside world, a calcium dependent extracellular secretion (called SNARE protein complex) makes the Synaptic vesicle release neurotransmitters, and then reach the postsynaptic membrane through the synaptic gap to interact with the corresponding receptors. SNARE is composed of three proteins: VAMP, Syntaxin, and SNAP-25.
