What gives you the idea Thailand is poor? it is a modern and advanced developing country with unimaginable wealth.

So, I find Thais content, even happy, and their family structure makes up for what it lacks in western style social services. They have been enjoying a superior position within the south East Asian community for hundreds of years. The royal household holds perhaps the most asset value of any royal house worldwide. In the end, it belongs to the people.
