第三章

亮爪跟上走在前边的月。月告诉她们，她们将在几日出内到达。她很兴奋能拯救族族，但也感到想家。雨爪也是独自和一个陌生猫和一只狐狸在一起，她怎么会这么乐观？我从没想过水族猫会这样。虽然我从来没有参加过森林大会，但在育婴室故事里，每只猫都说水族猫强大而不友好。

两脚兽的建筑物出现在他们爬下一座山的时候。

“亮爪，你在想什么？我们终于到了！”Rainpaw的眼睛闪烁着惊喜和喜悦。“月，我们该怎么办？我迫不及待地想完成那个重大任务。”

“还有一条很短的路要走。”月亮呜呜说道。“你任务中最困难的部分。”

“太酷了！”亮爪喵喵大笑。我可能会想念我的家人和朋友，但我永远不会害怕困难！

“我们喜欢挑战！”雨爪喵道：“那么，让我们现在开始进入双腿兽地盘吧。”

“等等，这两脚兽地盘很危险。”月警告道。“你们这些小猫崽对拯救别猫太兴奋了。”

“我们必须穿过那条雷路吗？”雨爪咕哝着。“它对我们来说太宽了。在我们到达中间的灌木丛之前，我们会被怪物撞到的！”

“我来教你俩一个技巧。”月亮咕哝道：“你看，两脚兽路上有白色的条纹。两脚兽在上面行走，这样车里的其他两脚兽就可以发现它们。如果你跟着两脚兽走，你就不会被任何怪物击中。明白吗？”

“事实上，我没有。”雨爪喵着。“我们能不能回去找另一条路？”

“不，我们不能！我已经带你走了这么远！”月亮咕噜说。“那亮爪先走。雨爪，你可以跟着。我需要侧着身子躲起来，这样人类就不会注意到我穿过。”

“好吧，我试试看。”喵着亮爪。她小心地触碰上那条小路。她控制自己的脚步，跟上两脚兽们，绕过他们的腿，避开他们的脚。几心跳内，她已经到达了另一边。

“好吧，我也去。”雨爪尽了最大努力做同样的事情。她几乎成功地够到了，直到一只两脚兽的脚撞到了她……

那只腿把她踢向空中，她撞到了一个两脚兽围栏上。

“雨爪，你没事吧？”喵着亮爪，“我知道一些草药，也许我能帮上忙？”

月亮刚刚到达了雷路的这一侧。“给她找蛛网吧，亮爪，我想你除了蛛网、金盏花和罂粟籽，其他什么都不懂。”

亮爪低下头走了。雨爪会好吗？如果她死了我该怎么向微光溪解释？我在做什么，服从那只狐狸，绑架其他学徒？我不应该想那么多，只专注于采集草药会更好。

亮爪带着满嘴的蜘蛛网爬回栅栏。他们在哪里？她跟着狐狸的气味来到一个小山洞。雨爪被月守着，躺在他身旁。月可能给了她一些罂粟籽。

“亮爪，进来把蜘蛛网放在她的伤口上。”月喊道：“她伤了背。你是一个医药猫学徒，所以你需要训练。”

“你要训练我吗？”亮爪把蜘蛛网放在雨爪的背上时问道。

“当然。”月展示了他的药店。“这叫做牛蒡根，它可以减轻伤口的疼痛，也有助于骨折的愈合。那些大叶子是酸模叶，可以治疗擦伤。”

“雨爪把她的骨头弄断了吗？”亮爪很担心。

“不，但你需要出去找这些草药。还有金盏花和罂粟籽，我想你知道这些？别担心，它们在这个单元的两脚兽花园里有很多草药。”

“好的，那么什么是单元？”

“在狐狸的语言中，它的意思是两脚兽领地的一部分。啊，没必要知道，它只是意味着你不需要穿越雷路。”月亮咕哝道。

亮爪立刻跑开了。牛蒡根……酸模叶……

我不知道这些两脚兽种了这么多药草！草药对它们不起作用，是吗？也许只是为了金盏花和罂粟花？总之，这让我的草药收集变得容易多了。

她走进另一个两脚兽的花园，寻找酸模叶。就在她到达那株植物之前，一只狗从一个两脚兽的洞穴里跑了出来……

Chapter 3

Brightpaw padded along as Moon took the lead. Moon told them they would arrive in a few sunrises. She was quite excited to save the clan, but also feeling home-sick. How did Rainpaw be so positive when she's alone with a stranger and a fox? I never thought WaterClan cats ar like that. I've never went to a gathering, though, but in nursery tales everyone said WaterClan cats are mighty and unfriendly.

Twoleg buildings appeared as they padded down a hill.

"Brightpaw, what are you thinking about? We're here, finally!" Rainpaw's eyes shimmered with surprise and joy. "Moon, what are we supposed to do? I can't wait to do that big mission."

"There's still a, short path left."purred Moon."The most difficult part of your quest."

"That's cool!"Brightpaw let out a mrrow of laghter. I maybe missing my family and friends, but I'll never be afraid of difficulties!

"We love challenges!"Rainpaw mewed, "So,let's set of into the twoleg place now."

"Hold on. The twoleg place is dangerous." Moon warned." You young cats are too excited about saving others."

"Do we have to cross that thunderpath?"Rainpaw muttered."It's too wide for us. We'll get hitten by a monster before we even reach that bush in the middle!"

"I'll teach you two a technique."purred Moon,"You see, there are white stripes on the twoleg road. Twolegs walk on them so that the other twolegs in cars can spot them. If you walk with a twoleg, you won't be hitten by any monster. Understand?"

"I don't, actually."mewed Rainpaw."Could we just go back and find another way?"

"No, we can't! I've brought you so far!" Moon purred."Then Brightpaw will go first. Rainpaw, you can follow. I need to hide sideways so that the human couldn't notice me going through."

"Okay, I'll try."mewed Brightpaw. She carefully touched the thunderpath. She controled her steps, catched up with the twolegs and turning through their legs, avoiding their feet. In a few heartbeats, she already reached the other side.

"Fine. I'll go too." Rainpaw tried her best to do the same thing. She almost reached successfully, until a twoleg feet striked at her……

The twoleg kicked her into the air and she crashed onto a twoleg fence.

"Rainpaw, are you alright?"mewed Brightpaw,"I know some herbs, maybe I can help?"

Moon just reached their side of the thunderpath."Find cobwebs for her, Brightpaw, I don't assume you know anything more than cobwebs, marigolds, and poppy seeds."

Brightpaw dipped her head and went away. Will Rainpaw be fine? How could I explain this to Shimmerstream if she dies? What am I doing, obeying that fox and kidnapping other apprentices? I shouldn't think that much, just focus on collecting herbs will be better.

Brightpaw padded back to the fence with a mouthful of cobwebs. Where are they? She followed the fox-scent and reached a small cave. Rainpaw was guarded by moon, lying beside him. Moon probably gave her some poppy seeds.

"Brightpaw, come in and put the cobwebs on her wounds."Moon called,"She hurted her back. You are a medicine cat apprentice, so you'll need training."

"Are you going to train me?"Brightpaw asked as she put the cobwebs on Rainpaw's back.

"Of course."Moon showed his herb store." This is called Burdock root, it can ease the pain of wounds, and also helps grow back broken bones. Those Large leaves are dock leaves, works for scratches."

"Did Rainpaw break her bones?"Brightpaw worried.

"No, but you need to go out and find some of these herbs. Also marigold and poppy seeds, I think you know these? Don't be afriad, their are quite a lot of herbs in twoleg gardens in this unit."

"Okay, and what's a unit?"

"It means a part of twoleg place in fox language. Ah, no need to know that, it just means that you don't need to cross thunderpaths."Moon purred.
Brightpaw ran away at once. Burdock roots……dock leaves……

There! I didn't know that twolegs plant so many herbs! Herbs don't work with them, do they? maybe just for marigold and poppy flowers? Anyway, that makes my herb collecting much easier.

She step into another twoleg garden to find dock leaves. Just before she reached the plant, a dog ran out from a twoleg den……
