Introduire / introduce

法语的 “introduire” 和英语的 “introduce” 长得很象吧？但要当心啦：它们是一对“假朋友”，小心上当！ （^v^)

“Introduire quelqu'un”是“带领某人进入房间（圈子，领域）”，而不是“介绍某人”（即告知双方的姓名，身份等，使他们正式相识，这要用 présenter）。

“Introduire quelqu'un” is to show someone into a room, etc. ( faire entrer, conduire quelqu'un dans un lieu）, not to introduce someone, which is “présenter”.

例如：

Introduire un visiteur au salon
To show a visitor into the living room
把来访者让进客厅。

L'huissier introduit les visiteurs.

The usher announces the guests.

门房将访客请进来（并通报姓名、身份）。

La secrétaire m' introduisit auprès du directeur/dans le bureau du directeur.
The secretary showed me into the manager's office.
秘书把我带进了经理的办公室。（带我去见经理）

C'est son père qui m'a introduit dans la haute société.
It was his father who gave me an introduction to/an entrée into high society.
全靠他父亲引荐，我才得以进入上流社会。

Une souris s'est introduite dans la maison par le trou.
A mouse got into the house through the hole.
一只老鼠从小洞进入了房子里。（它是不请自来啦：自己把自己“引进”了房子。^v^）

Il a réussi à s'introduire dans le milieu fermé des diamantaire.
He managed to find a way into/get himself accepted in the closed world of the diamond merchants.
他成功地打入了钻石商的小圈子。(和老鼠一样啦：自己把自己“引进”了圈子。^v^）

以上句子的共同特点是：introduire 的对象是人（或动物，e.g.老鼠），他们被领入房间或某圈子，某领域。

当 introduire 的对象不是人，而是外来的物种，技术，etc.，或某种抽象的事物（外来的时尚，思想，理论等）时，可以译为“引进，传入”（faire connaître）。这种用法常为被动句。英语的 introduce 也有同样的用法。在这个意义上，两个词是“真朋友”，可以互译。

例如：

Les bommes de terre furent introduites en Europe dès 1550.
Potatoes were introduced into Europe as early as 1550.
马铃薯在1550年就被引进了欧洲。

Cette nouvelle mode a été introduite enFranceaprès la guerre.
This new fashion was introduced intoFranceafter the war.
这种新时尚在战后被引进了法国。

Cet usage s'est introduit chez nous dans les années soixante.
This practice was introduced in this country in the sixties.
此风于60年代开始传入我国。

注意：法语的 introduire 可以用于具体的工具，器械等：

Il introduisit la clef dans la serrure avec précaution.
He put/inserted the key cautiously into the lock.
他小心翼翼地把钥匙插进锁里。（普通的物体）

而英语的 introduce 就几乎不用于具体的器物（To introduce ne s'emploie que rarement en anglais avec des objets concrets.）当然啦，学医的会遇到以下句子:

The doctor introduced a catheter into the patient’s nose.
医生在病人的鼻子里放了一根导管。(太专业了吧？不用记啦！^v^) 

英语的 introduce 主要还是“介绍”的意思， 相当于法语的 présenter，即：通过（某人）介绍与某人相识（faire rencontrer）。例如：

Allow me to introduce Mr. Adams (to you) (to introduce myself).
Permettez-moi de vous présenter M. Adams (de me présenter).
请允许我向您介绍亚当斯先生。（我自己）

I was the one who introduced them (to each other).
C'est moi qui les ai présentés l'un à l'autre/C’est grâce à moi qu’ils se connaissent.
是我介绍他们相识的。

除了介绍人，introduce 也可以“介绍”事物（faire découvrir），有时也可译为 introduire：

I was first introduced to classical music at the age of five.
J'ai eu mon premier contact avec la musique classique à l'âge de cinq ans.
我5岁开始接触古典音乐。

During the Greek holiday Hugh introduced me to the joys of skin diving.
Pendant ces vacances en Grèce, Hugues m'a initié aux joies de la plongée sous-marine.
在希腊度假的时候，休斯让我初识潜水的乐趣。

It was he who introduced me to philosophy.
C'est lui qui m'a introduit à la philosophie.
在哲学领域，是他领我入门的。
