Grade 284S16 (1.4373) stainless steel is a Cr Ni Mn stainless steel with properties similar to A240/SUS 302 stainless steel. This brand has excellent toughness at low temperature. It is one of the most widely used precipitation hardening grades, with good corrosion resistance, toughness, high hardness and strength.

Compared with Grade 304 stainless steel, it has a low nickel content, so it is cost-effective, which makes it a preferred alternative for general applications (such as mop handles, decorative applications, etc.), such as Grade 304 and 316. It is reasonable to expect the specifications in these standards to be similar, but not necessarily identical, to those given in this data sheet.
