今天继续聊词汇——
guide——
有名词和动词两种词性。
名词含义：指南、向导、指引；
名词搭配一：a guide to something某事物的指南；
名词搭配二：a tour guide导游；
名词搭配三：a spiritual guide灵修指引者；
名词搭配四：let something be one's guide依靠某物、由某物指引，如one's feelings感觉、taste buds味蕾等。
动词含义：指路、驾驶、影响、阐明；
动词搭配一：guide somebody to a place带某人去某地，guide somebody through a place带某人穿过某地，guide somebody around a place带某人逛逛某地；
动词搭配二：somebody guides a vehicle somewhere某人驾驶某交通工具；
动词搭配三：somebody/something（A） guides somebody/something（B）A影响、指引B；
动词搭配四：let something guide somebody让某物指引某人（某人相信某物，如instinct直觉、religious beliefs宗教信仰）；
动词搭配五：something（B） is guided by something（A），B以A为指导、宗旨，如Development has been guided by a concern for the ecology of the area.该地区发展以关注生态为指导原则；
动词搭配六：guide somebody through something向某人阐明某事物；
书中用法：……Exercise that guides students through assessing ……表示这是个向学生阐明了对……的评估的练习。
block——
有名词和动词两种词性。
名词含义：方块、楼房、街道、土地、大量（看做一个整体）；
名词搭配一：a block of something solid一块某物，如ice、concrete、stone；
名词搭配二：a chopping block砧板；
名词搭配三：a tower block高层建筑；
名词搭配四：a place is several blocks away某地在几街区远的地方；
名词搭配五：a block of shares一宗股份，a block of text 一段文字，a block of class一节课；
名词搭配六：block booking团购。
动词含义：阻塞、挡住、妨碍；
动词搭配一：somebody/something blocks a highway/many roads/the stream某人/某物堵塞了公路/许多道路/河流；
动词搭配二：somebody/something blocks one's path/way/the view somewhere某人/某物挡住了某人的道路/某地的景色；
书上短语：block ……表示阻断……。
重要短语——
quorum sensing——生物学术语：细菌的群体效应，可以看做细菌间的交流方式，通过分泌信息分子，自诱导剂达成，每个细菌都会分泌自诱导剂，那么当细菌感应到自诱导剂浓度上升的时候，自然就是周边细菌数量增多的时候，然后按照周遭自诱导剂浓度启动相关基因适应环境，这样，单细胞的细菌呈现出多细胞生物的特质，即细菌之间是会相互影响、相互适应的。
