【中英文演讲稿】邹韵专访马来西亚总理安瓦尔

Mentioned about Confucianism actually we all know you have a really deep understanding about Confucianism and back in 1994 when you visited China. You actually paid a visit to the Temple of Confucius right, actually by the way, I'm from Shandong, that was my hometown, not Qufu I'm from Shandong, so how has the value were the core values of Confucianism has some influenced and inspired you all those years.

您提到儒家学说，其实我们都知道您对儒家学说有非常深入的理解。回到1994年当您访问中国时，您实际上去拜访了孔庙，对吧。顺便说一句，我来自山东，我家乡就在那里。不是曲阜人，但也是山东人，那么这些年来，儒家核心价值观如何影响和启发了您呢？

Well his great sage and looking at his writing 《论语》, you find that there's so much wisdom. That we need to acquire I benefit immensely to understand the other and I think generally this is also what is talked about the global civilization initiative and that you know you engage you respect their differences, you understand and finally the too many similarities, right? 

孔子是先贤圣人，我读过《论语》，我觉得从中可以汲取很多智慧。儒家思想让我受益匪浅，在了解他人方面，我觉得全球文明倡议，也强调这一点，你要融入，尊重彼此的差异，理解彼此，最终找到相似之处，对吧？

All civilizations condemn injustices, racism, religious bigotry, arrogance of power, corruption. 

所有文明都谴责不公正，种族主义、宗教偏见、炫耀武力、腐败等问题。

So it is about seeking commonality while respecting the differences. Prime Minister Anwar, we heard that tourism was actually one of the issues that are high on your agenda this time in China. Well, Malaysia has always been one of the most popular holiday destinations among Chinese tourists, and now with international travel coming gradually back on track, Malaysia could be once again a very hot spot for Chinese travelers. So, as the Prime Minister now, how would you recommend your country to our Chinese viewers and also Chinese visitors?

Let's talk about the star ambassadors between the friendship of two countries, the giant pandas, because recently some videos released by Malaysian National Zoo about those pandas playing with their keepers has really gone viral online. Those pandas, they were called yiyi and shengyi, with a little translation of friendship and enhancing friendship. They were very well-liked among Malaysian citizens, and also they were born in Malaysia and will be returning to China soon. So, Mr. Prime Minister, do you personally love those type pandas and also what kind of impact do you think they have played in enhancing the time-honored friendship between the two countries?

让我们谈谈两国友谊的明星大使——大熊猫。最近，马来西亚国家动物园发布了一些视频，展示这些大熊猫和它们的饲养员玩耍，这些视频在网上走红了。这两只大熊猫被称为“谊谊”和“升谊”，意思是友谊和提升友谊。在马来西亚市民中非常受欢迎，而且它们出生于马来西亚，很快就会返回中国。那么，总理先生，您喜欢大熊猫吗，您认为它们在增进两国源远流长的友谊方面发挥了什么样的作用？

To be honest, my grandchildren know more about these pandas. Do they love them? Yes, they have been there, they've been to the zoo to be visited. But I must apologize I have not seen them. But that has gone viral too in the country, and I think if and when we decide to send them back, it will be a very emotional departure. I think people will be very sad, heartbroken moment for our grandkids.

说实话，我的孙辈们比我更了解大熊猫。他们喜欢它们吗？是的，他们曾经去过那里，去动物园参观过。不好意思，我没有去看过这2只大熊猫。但是它们在马来西亚确实很受欢迎，我想把它们送回中国的时候，这将是一个非常感人的离别，大家会很舍不得会伤心。我认为人们会非常难过，您的孙辈可能会很伤心。
