1.3D Printing. Enabling three-dimensional (3D) printing of polysaccharides, which are typically non-printable, can exhibit their inherent bioactivities for better biomaterials design. In article number 2203236, Xiaoyan Sun, Lei Dong, Chunming Wang, and co-workers develop a non-solvent quenching (NSQ) strategy to print polysaccharides scaffolds with high fidelity to exert accurate immunomodulatory activities. It serves as a generic approach for printing polysaccharides without the need of chemical modification.

Flexible printed electronic cold atmospheric plasma patch is fabricated for skin disease and directly applied only the lesion site by injecting calcium without applying anti-inflammatory ointment.

The neurovascular pathologies are mediated by SIRT1 and thus could be rescued by the modulation of SIRT1 levels in each neuron and brain endothelial cell.

5.Type 2 Diabetes. In article number 2202342, Ronald J. Parchem and co-workers describe two hIAPP protofibril-specific antibodies which prevent β cell toxicity in type 2 diabetes (T2D). Treatment with mAbs increases survival in a mouse model of severe T2D, and pancreatic islets from treated mice show decreased β cell death and macrophage infiltration, comparable to healthy wild-type animals, as depicted in the photo.

The proposed system is implemented in sleep-state monitoring and demonstrates rapid-eye movement (REM) sleep modulation and short-term spatial working memory improvements in REM sleep-deprived mice.

47.RNA-Dependent RNA Polymerase. In article number 2203499, Zhigao Bu, Lingbo Qu, Maozhi Ren, Fuguang Li, and co-workers report that gossypol, a natural product from cotton plant, can efficiently inhibit SARS-CoV-2 variants by targeting RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp). Moreover, the RdRp inhibitor gossypol shows broad-spectrum antiviral activity against the examined coronaviruses from the four main phylogenetic branches alphacoronaviruses, betacoronaviruses, gammacoronaviruses, and deltacoronaviruses.

The effectiveness of the blue OLED jaundice treatment is verified by in vitro test using neonatal jaundice serum, and effective and very uniform treatment performance is confirmed, compared to a conventional LED-based platform.
