“Students who are going to take the 2022 postgraduate entrance exam in China”
Is John Bercow here, former speaker of the UK house of commons
At the request or perhaps I should say the instruction of Laurentin who is one of the 5,000,000 students in that situation.
I am recording this cameo by way of a Pep talk to and for you and perhaps a gentle dose of advice
My understanding is that the competition is very fierce
and of course those of you taking the exam are determined to pass and thereby to gain entry
what should you do?
well the first thing you've got to ask yourself is
Can we revise,is there a body of material that can be learned?
in order to maximize our chances of success
and if the answer to that is yes
then you need to set up program over the coming weeks,
work out how much you need to know, what time requires to be allocated
and to develop a systematic, rigorous and hard-working approach
to enable you to digest as much as possible in the time available to you
if you're not able specifically to revise and there is an element of uncertainty about it
that makes the situation very much more difficult and challenging
But I think my point would be
Are other past papers that are publicly available past examples of that postgraduate entrance exam which you can at least access
You know that of course it will be different this time round for the nature, the style of the questions and the sort of approach that might usefully work in answer
When you've got to get yourself into that zone
you need in the model patterns to be dive in(这一句一直不确定,大家听听看) to the subject and thinking how best to tackle it
I find it hard to imagine that there's nothing that you can do,
you may not be able to prepare in any very precise or scientific way
possibly even talk to people who've done the postgraduate examination before
and get a feel for what the examiners are looking for
that's what you need
you've got to put yourself in the position in the seat of the examiners who have drawn up the questions
what are they looking to extract or to establish from you
and try to develop your thinking accordingly more specifically
I suppose I would say
you need
both to work hard and to allow time for rest
simply flogging your guts out
for the next 2 months if that's what it is
With no light and shade is not a good idea
you risk burnout and you don't want burnout
so yes you need to work hard preferably in an organized, programmed, planned, systematic way
but you also need to ensure that you get proper sleep
because that's an incredibly important ingredient of academic professional entity for that matter, sporting success
And you've got to keep yourself in a good frame of mind by pursuing your hobbies
particularly if your sports-minded
protecting both your physical and your mental health
with exercise, the playing of competitive sport or
undertaking exercise routines,going jogging
for the physical and mental benefits of that including the benefit of lots of fresh air
So that is the best advice I can offer in the circumstances
Laurentin I wish you every possible success
I hope you thrive
I hope that you're able to pass the exams and go on to fulfill your dreams
if you require further assistance or you got particular questions about given aspects of the run up to those exams, feel free to come back to me
(吟唱环节)
But meanwhile I hope that this is of interest and if I may say so I order you to do your best
and to succeed
and I require from you laurentin and response
no backtrack,no heckling,no ranting,no barracking,no juntering from a sedentary position
and no use of an non-parlimentary language of a kind that would be deprecated in and subject
to condine punishment by the house of commons(这一段问题可能比较多)
What I require from you is simple, faithful, absolute, immediate and unquestioning complaints
with the terms of my order
Go for it good luck
Onwards and upwards!
