正因为科学取得了巨大成功，我觉得出现了伪科学。

Because of the success of science, there is, I think, a kind of pseudoscience.

社会科学就是一门算不上科学的科学，那些人的研究方法并不科学。

Social science is an example of a science which is not a science, they don't do scientifically.

他们遵循了某种形式，比如收集数据，做这样那样的分析。

they follow the forms, you gather data, you do so-and-so and so forth.

但他们没有得出任何定律，没有什么真正的发现。

but they don't get any laws, they haven't found out anything.

目前尚未取得成果，也许有一天他们会有进展，但这不是那么容易。

they haven't got anywhere yet，maybe someday they will, but it's not very well developed.

可现在的情况是，在更世俗的层面。

but what happens is on an even more mundance level.

几乎每件事我们都有专家，听上去像是所谓的科学专家。

We get experts on everything that sound like they're sort of scientific experts.

其实他们一点都不科学，他们只是坐在打字机前胡编乱造，比如：

They;re not scientific, tehy sit at a typewriter and they make up something like

他们会说，用有机肥料种植的农作物比用无机肥料种植的更有益健康。

Food grown with fertilizer that's organic is better for you than food grown with fertilizer that's inorganic.

也许是真的，也许是假的，但并未用某种办法去证明。

may be true, may not be true, but it hasn't been demonstrated one way or the other.

他们就坐在打字机前编造，好像这就是科学。

But they'll sit there on the typewriter and make up all this stuff as if it's science.

然后他们就成了食品，有机食品等方面的专家。

and then become an expert on foods, organic foods and so on.

于是到处充斥着各自谬论，伪科学大行其道。

There's all kinds of myths and pseudoscience all over the place.

也许我错得离谱，也许他们确实懂这些，但我认为我没错。

Now, I might be quite wrong, maybe they do know all these things, but I don't think I'm wrong.

你要知道我的优点在于：我知道真正弄懂一个东西有多么困难。

You see, I have the advantage of having found out how hard it is to get to really know something.

你去验证实验时必须得多小心。

how careful you have to be about checking the experiments.

很轻易就会犯错误并把自己弄糊涂。

how easy it is to make mistakes and fool yourself.

我知道弄懂一件事意味着什么。

I know what it means to know something.

所以我看到他们获取信息的方式，我无法相信他们真的弄懂了。

and therefore I see how they get their information and I can't believe that they know it.

他们没有做必要的工作，也没做必要的检验，也没有必要的严谨态度。

they haven‘t done the work necessary,, haven't done the care necessary.

我很怀疑，他们根本不懂，他们所说的都是假的。

I have a great suspicion that they don't know, that this stuff is wrong.

他们只是在吓唬民众，我觉得是这样。

and they're intimidating people. I think so.

我不太了解这个世界，但我确实是这么想的。

I don't know the world very well but that's what I think.
