6. 3D in Photoshop---2-1.Example 1

P56 - 00:00 

So let me show you a couple of other things. in 3D panel, you see this four different types. 

P56 - 00:10控制面板有4种类型。 

So basically this is everything about light. And it's very obvious that this is everything about textures. So, every time you can swap between textures and by double clicking, it will bring you that picture up. 

P56 - 00:24右1灯光2材质。双击切换。 

this guy is very important because it's like a layers' menu, but for 3D layer right now you have. and you can double click and like change it to geometry and like group them, by right click, group objects. We will make, for example, q. So that's the way you can move them around. You can select them, move them together, and stuff like that. So very straightforward. 

P56 - 00:58右3图层,重命名,右键打组。 

And when we have a geometry, select it We can move it around and start duplicating it, actually. But before we do that, I kind of realized that my geometry is not perfectly aligned with the kind of almost falling towards the left hand side. 

P56 - 01:18移动复制几何体发现线条不匹配。 

So I want to change that. And the way we do it, you double click on your geometry and you go over here. This guy over here basically gives you like a precise location and orientation of your object. So obvious you see its inclined in x and z axis. If I press enter.  And also I need to reset this one. Now my geometry is perfectly aligned. 

P56 - 01:52调节XYZ方向位置来匹配。 

So it's not standing on the ground. If I wanted to be standing on the ground, I obviously can move him around. But sometimes it's better just to select this option. this panel and move object to the ground. And now this object stands on the ground plane. 

P56 - 02:07从浮动到落地的操作。 

Also I wanna move this cube or maybe even hide him for now. We don't need him for now. All we need is this some kind of cylindrical geometry.

And now this is where the fun starts. Basically what you can do by right clicking you can add different things you can duplicate, but also you can instance your object. So when I press it creates these guys over here.

So let me just offset like this. Basically what it did, it created a copy of this object. These objects that they are apparent to each other. 

P56 - 02:44原件副本级联在一起。 

So if I keep designing one of these guys. You see the other geometry is also being. For example, if I go and start refining, you can see basically I'm changing another one as well. 

P56 - 03:08比如操作一个,副本同步被修改。 

So I keep going like this. I can instance this object again, 

P56 - 03:13重复实例化复制品的操作。 

move him like this. they're all instance. It is very powerful because it doesn't matter which object your painting on, You can start painting on this guy. And it will immediately change those for me as well.

And because it's photoshop, you can use any methods you want. You can use lasso tool to select your object.  you see those changed as well. So it is the best way to approach a design. When you have like a modular system, for example, let's say you doing like a syphon environment with a lot of repeating things.

Photoshop gives you control to design one of those and have, in effect, on all of those geometries. 

P56 - 04:24操作一个等于操作克隆体。 

Like, for example, and it’s so powerful that you can change the combination of different like, let's say I wanna paint and diffuse, And I want some kind of logo over here, Like, let's say, see something, and now I have it. Let's say I want this a bit more shiny. 

P56 - 05:163D目标材质漫射徽标-闪亮点。 

I changed my painting to shininess. All its pain and reflection. So let's go paint system reflectivity. Of course, I need to create a map for reflection. Now this place is very reflective. the way to see it. If I change my light. Simple like this. And if I hit render. I made an inverse. But you can see the difference. These guys are very reflective, and the resting is not reflecting. 

P56 - 06:323D目标材质-反射-灯-渲染。 

How cool is that guys? Imagine what you can actually do, because that's why I keep saying only being 3D guys not enough to be a good storyteller because there are so many things that change. When you actually finalize your picture, 

P56 - 06:44定稿时候迭代单纯建模不够。 

you put all the textures, you put all the lighting, your story looks completely different. Why would you spend so much time, like modeling these tools? If you're not seeing everything in the final picture,  

P56 - 06:59看不到定稿成效,建模无意义。 

for example, let's make a quick example.  Like, let's say, let's have a quick 35. Drop the camera. let's say that there is this kind of environment, And I can change my lighting as I want. that's a good one. Now you can start having this angle. You can start actually designing your environment, 

P56 - 07:35灯光 视角 设计环境。 

You can put the ground level over here. And you can start introducing characters. Let’s say somewhere over here. We've got these two characters. They're like exploring what is this place?  

P56 - 08:32加入地面阴影,和角色。 

And only need to do is just hit render. Like a some kind of rendering going on and basically start to paint over the normal like introduced a lot of smoke. Let's say these guys weren't even doing some smoke. So using this method, you can I have so much control, like, let's say. Okay, we're  like the composition, but we don't like the design or we need to change the design. 

P56 - 09:38渲染 绘制烟。喜欢合成改设计。 

And it's very easy because you've got these instances. And all you need to do is to over here. Let’s say I wanted to do 3D paint opacity again. And you can keep designing, And you can create these instances as many as you want. 

P56 - 10:06实例3D绘制材质-不透明度。 

let's get rid of everything. Like coming to the instance. Basically, you get what you can do. You can group these guys at the group. Right click. instance objects, and instance this group, trick them over, 

P56 - 11:04克隆-打组-再克隆。 

group them again.  Instance, this group. And all you need afterwards, is to start creating your story. 

P56 - 11:17接下来创建故事。 

Let's change the light direction. imagine Let's change the camera as well. Let's go even wider 25, 20 maybe. Yeah. Cool.  

P56 - 11:51灯光-摄像视角宽度20宽点。 

And now you basically painting or where your light is coming from. 

P56 - 12:29现在灯照过来的方向开始绘制。 

It's should be very straightforward to start actually painting. Just keeps you a very nice space. And because it's transparent, you can start designing your sky very quickly. 

P56 - 12:55透明层,设计天空。 

And this is me doing stuff without rendering, just a few shapes. That's actually hit the render. It's probably too reflective. So we need to go back and Just basically remove the picture. 

P56 - 14:19渲染-过于反射-上移。 

and hit the render. At this point. Still reflective. I think it's the shining is what makes it. Let's try it again. Reflection. That looks much better. So give it a little bit more time. you can already see how powerful it is. 

P56 - 15:25调节闪亮-反射-粗糙度都调节。 

first we didn't need any 3D software today. Second, it was very simple, very straightforward. And the last thing, it's just a combination of powerful photoshop tools. And this kind of simple 3D gives you a ridiculous control of what you're doing and how quickly you can do it. 

P56 - 15:45PS工具组合替代建模软件。 

Imagine if we were doing this in 3D, you would model it, and you will bring it in randomly. Take it in photoshop, like so many unnecessary procedures that slows you down but having these as a base. Like I can just have those cylinders and 3D space. I can create so many different stories very quickly.  

P56 - 16:09圆柱体构造空间,可以讲故事。 

And the last and not at least powerful thing that you can steal. You are able, like for example, to start composing inside photo shop. And by composing, I mean you can start bringing in atmosphere. And also you can start darkening things where they need to be darken, doing all those things that you would do with your 3D. But now you are inside photoshop.  Like for example, you can have a noise layer on. Something that you always had towards the end of stuff. Add noise. Set the overly. 

P56 - 17:54加入分型杂色 重叠。 

Let's say this is my first frame, duplicate it say V two. 

P56 - 18:12第一帧-复制-第二帧。 

we want to look at vary tool. And now we go and we change environment. Like this second story could be this. 

P56 - 18:23改变成分型杂色场景二。 

And then you start painting, This is a different moment in this story. When you have a sniper over here. He's just about to shoot those guys who were walking down. They don't see him. 

P56 - 18:50这故事场景绘制狙击手。 

So many different possibilities you can have just by being able to repeat new environment to start painting over on Top of it. Absolutely priceless guys.  But ultimately what makes it even more powerful is the ability to change these designs. 

P56 - 19:13最强大的是可以修改设计。 

Like I can take this design, do it like a medieval column. And it will completely change and make absolutely different story. 

P56 - 19:20改成中等柱体,改写故事。 

So that's the power of instances. I will show you more examples as we go.
