14 Lesson 3 - Perfect Color and Light, Each Time Part 3 - Artifitial Ligh P14 - 00:01人造光。 

Nowadays, even at night, nothing is ever fully dark. We have computer screens and desk lamps and street lights and car lights. 晚上很少有漆黑不见五指了，我们有台灯 屏幕灯 车灯，We have these fake suns just about everywhere. 到处有人造小太阳光源。And just like how our sunlight can completely drown a scene to give it a time of day and also a mood. 如同太阳光不同时间段渲染一个场景，给到一个时间段，给到一段心情。Artificial lights are the exact same. 人造光源也是同样的道理。

Now let's hop into some of the most common sources and understand what kind of impact it can make on the scene. 接下来对普通生活中光，比如台灯或街灯的处理。The next tackle would be your average light, like a desk lamp or a street lamp. You will notice that these lights obviously have a bit of glow from their source. And the way the light is made creates a light shape. For example, you'll see here that there is an actual umbrella like structure that the light is creating. 你可以看到台灯做出弧线形，两个方向。And it creates a direction going this way. magic is also artificial light. Don't think I did forget about magic. The reason is because it just like a lamp or fire only affects things in a radio area. It doesn't really bath things unless you have a sun made out of magic, which is only like could be a thing. But regardless in most cases, magic is also a source of artificial light.别忘记魔幻色也是人造光灯一种，也是局部范围内的发射光。 

P14 - 03:38人造光不如太阳光稳定。 

One thing to realize is that both artificial and natural light can give off say like a green light or blue light, but they will still feel very different. We can change the color of our desk lamp very easily, but we cannot change the color of our sun. 如果人造光和太阳光可能都是蓝绿色。我们很容易变化人造光，但是不容易改变太阳光。If you can do that, please call me. I need to know your ways. But our sun stays a mostly yellow, white or orange red kind of light. So when we see a green scene out in the wild, the light on the characters or the light that is picking out is always a bright yellow or a white light.太阳光打在自然界的颜色是明亮黄色或者白色。

so yellow light is hitting the streets here and is hitting these characters here. It's like a yellow, white kind of light. It will always colour the local value towards a yellow or warm tint.所以自然光把树叶角色局部涂上了黄色暖光。 Therefore it's very different from actually using a green light which bathes the entire thing in green. 再比如绿光灯一切都染成绿色。 

P14 - 04:42绘画常见的错误。 

Therefore a common mistake I see people doing well be that they would try to color something. So for example, let's say that you have this super cute photo of a dog and you want to paint it to be brighter. 比如我们把狗涂上亮色。Sometimes what people would like to do, if they want to incorporate sunlight into this painting, all they wanna do is just make something brighter by adding white, which really isn't the way to go. So if you just add white, you kind of just get a brighter picture. 如果你想给照片加入太阳光，你加入白色但是得不到发亮效果。You don't really feel like there's a warmth or sunlight, but rather not going back to original. If you wanted to add some light into it. Or have a some kind of warm artificial light. And you should add a warm color tint like this. in that way. It will feel a lot more as the sunlight was streaming through the windows. And it feels a lot more of lit overall. 我们可以染上黄色暖光的色调，如同阳光透光窗户的光束给画面染上的色彩。 

P14 - 05:30再举例子，孩子画的草地是绿的。 

Think about when a little kid draws grass. Why does it look so fake? When kids draw process green and the sky is blue? Because grass, at least when you look at it in real life, it's not actually green. So if you're just going to colour the sky blue and make the grass green, and something looks really off, the grass actually needs to be a little bit more yellow than that, because when you look at an actual photo of grass, you can see that the sky gives off this warm yellow light and thus the grass should also be a bit more yellow lit. I literally just took the colors out from the image to be able to create this grass that definitely looks so much more believable than what was originally there, 日光下的草不是绿色，是黄色。 

P14 - 06:20夜光下的草是什么色？ 

the same thing occurs for the night time. A normal little kid would paint the sky to be looked like a dark blue, and then paint the grass to be a green. But as you can clearly see, something that looks really off about this image. The reason is because the grass really shouldn't be that shade of green. as we talked about before, because it's night time. Our eyes can't really sense super vibrant colors. So everything kind of turns to dark and monotone blue. Therefore our grass actually needs to be colored essentially black.晚上因为视觉难以分辨颜色，所以单一色调的蓝黑色，所以草是黑色的，浅绿色是灯光打下来的颜色。 And you can see that I have little pockets of slight blue green that pop out every once in a while to make it feel as if being lit. And this grass feels so much more natural than whatever the heck that we did for this one. 

P14 - 07:11总结下。 

Which I reiterate, please. By all means use reference in your paintings. If there's a scene or time of day that you don't really know how to paint, just look at mother nature and just look at the photographs. So really keep that in mind. It will make your color and light more believable, 借鉴下大自然的上色风格，让你绘制的充满可信性。 

P14 - 07:29举例子如何参考大自然的光。 

such as are you in strong sunlight? Then you should make your blacks warmer, make them more brown. See how the artist Kim English here is making the blacks of this lady just stretch more towards brown,你可以看到Kim English艺术家绘制夏天阴影棕色的。 or are you in a cool light and the shadows? Then you should make your whites turn into blues, really let it drown in that blue color. 再比如天蓝色衬托阴影里的凉爽。This makes your piece so much more believable. It makes the light believable. And it gives you a piece of vibrancy and beauty.这样给你的色彩 灯光变得可信度高。 Because to be honest, a neutral lighting setup is actually a bit rare in the picture making world. 真实世界人造光源覆盖的图画很少见，所以人造光源20分钟讲完了，只剩下灯光如何影响颜色。Now, this was a much shorter lecture to make up for the 20 minute one that you had to wash regarding daylight scenarios. Because artificial light is a lot more simple to explain and comprehend. And at this point, we're not even talking about artificial light anymore. We're just talking about how light it really affects color. 

P14 - 08:15灯光如何影响颜色。 

I totally get it that it can be really difficult to choose colors and know what is what and what is where and what color to put for this what could put for that.  But now that you know all of what I just taught you, take your pieces color and break it down. Ask yourself what is my primary light source? Is it the sun? If so, what's the time of day? And then go ahead and find reference images that correlate to that time of day. Or if your primary light source is an artificial light, think to yourself, how strong is that light? How far is it going to affect the colors of my piece? 我了解常常画画为了上什么颜色烦恼，如果可以分解步骤问自己，选择人造光源还是太阳光，如果是太阳光，什么时间段的，什么强度的，想好后，拿出参考图来绘制。接下来我举自己影视场景绘制的例子。As an example. P14 - 08:55自己的案例。 

when I was sketching and deciding what to do for the peace, I asked myself. Number one, what's my main light source? Well, I told myself I wanted to be the sun, I want to come out from behind the character and back like them. okay. Got it?比如我想绘制夕阳西下，从角色背后投射出来。 Then what's the color going to be? Well, I want this piece to be a really warm and kind of paint because cyberpunk is so famous for its pink hues. Since my main light source of the sun. And I want a pink sky and it's gonna be either sunset or sunrise, because the city and cyberpunk is called night city. As you can see, these small lights don't give off too much of the light, and they just affect a little bit of the surrounding area. But the main light is coming right here to my character. And with that, my artificial lights are done. 你看小光源覆盖的区域面积不大。主光源来自角色身后的落日余晖。The entire scene is bathed in this semi pink light from a sunset like scene. 整个图片场景沐浴在落日余晖后粉色的斜阳。And by breaking the color down to these simple steps and questions, 

P14 - 10:40借鉴光源。 

I have a very solid piece that does not look like a nineties cheap advertisement website. Even though I have a lot of color that's going around and you can do the exact same thing. Don't be afraid to use reference. Mother nature will never sue you. I promise. If she does, I will personally be your lawyer, but that's it. 不用害怕借鉴参考图，尤其是来自大自然的参考图。Color is just that as light and colour coming together to wash over your painting in a filter like a manner.如何运用好光和色彩如同滤镜效果一样。 Now let's take you through a demo to further demonstrate this and show you how you can do it easily yourself.
