Because as we all know, teachers' responsibility in educdation is pushing students to learn. A serious teacher can make sure students stay on track, and get their homework done. For me, I dare not spend my waking hours in front of the TV or with the Xbox instead of doing homework if I have a serious and strict teacher. (~60w, 20s)

What's more, a serious teacher is more likely to set high standards. With high standards comes high achievements.
