失败量产车系列27——吉普Compass MK
在2002年的把北美国际车展上，Jeep推出了Compass Concept概念车，这是一款具有双门车身，配备全时四驱的SUV。
2006年5月，Compass正式投入量产，分为三个版本发售，分别为基础型Sport、中配型Latitude以及顶配型Limited。该车由克莱斯勒PM/MK平台打造，交由伊利诺伊州的Belvidere组装生产。
同平台的Jeep车型还有Patriot，不过跟Compass这种休闲型SUV，Patriot更加倾向于传统吉普旅行车，卖点也就不同。
由于这是一台休闲型SUV，所以相比于同时期的Jeep车型，Compass的外观要圆润许多，圆圆的车头大灯在城市化设计的衬托下显得有点萌，后门的门把手并非布置在后门门板上，而是在C柱上。
与休闲性的外观不同，Compass的内饰依旧采用较为粗犷的风格，
2011年，Jeep推出了改款车型，相比于初期车型，改款车型的外观变化可以说翻天覆地，车头造型最为明显，因为圆圆的车头大灯没了，城市化的味道更浓了。
相比于初期车型的内饰，改款车型的内饰倒是没那么粗犷了，休闲化的风格做得更好了。

理论上来讲，假如凑合着来用的话，Compass的表现应该不错，但外媒表示这可是一台纯正的Jeep呀，越野不行、设计不行、质量不行还想有好评？结果。。。。。：
《汽车的真相》在2006年的“今日十大最差汽车奖 (TWAT)”榜单中将其排在第二位，称：“在这个恐怖故事中，弗兰肯斯坦博士将圆形大灯和七槽格栅移植到一辆平庸的高级轿车（又名道奇Calibre）的表面上。他按下开关，一个丑陋、瘦长、动力不足、厌恶泥土的混血儿摇摇晃晃地走向灯光，把所有看到它的人——或者上帝禁止买它——变成怪诞的、摇头晃脑的白痴。指南针践踏了吉普作为美国正宗越野车供应商的声誉。是时候拿出你的干草叉了。”（原文： The Truth About Cars ranked it in its "Ten Worst Automobiles Today Award (TWAT)" list in 2006, saying: "In this horror story, Dr. Frankenstein (played by the mustache-twirling Doktor Z) grafts round headlights and a seven-slot grill onto the face of a mediocre high-riding sedan (a.k.a. the Dodge Caliber). 即使进行换代式的中期改款，Compass依旧难逃批判：

2016年9月，第二代Compass正式问世，这次媒体的评价。。。。。貌似还行。
