【中英文演讲稿】央视主持人邹韵全英采访新加坡总理李显龙

        近日，央视新闻综合节目《中国之声》的主持人邹韵全英采访新加坡总理李显龙，谈吐优雅，长相也极具大国风范，典雅大气。

       邹韵不像央视的很多主持人毕业于中国传媒大学，或者科班出身，非科班出身的她却获得了主持人大赛总决赛的冠军。来源于她的努力，她一直很擅长英语，参加过很多英语大赛，她曾经梦想成为同声传译，没能实现梦想。

        后来有机会做了一名媒体人，用9年时间努力向国际传播中国声音。做英文记者，奔波于世界各地恶劣的新闻现场，做现场直播。2015年去剑桥大学攻读硕士，如今已经成功转型为国际主持人，发挥她英语的优势，如今的她已经越来越被大家熟知。

Well, Mr. Prime Minister, let's talk a little bit about yourself. Yes.

总理先生，让我们谈谈您自己吧。好的

I heard that you had great passion for mathematics. And for instance when people like me, when we take on vacation, we relax and we have fun, right? But I heard when you take on vacation, you will spend some of your vacation time to look into unsolved mathematical problems and that is depicted by some local media as “revealing the geeky side of you every now and then.” 

Back in your days in Cambridge, some professors say they thought it was a pity for you to become a politician not a mathematician because you were back then the rising star in the world of math. Mr.Prime Minister, have you ever regret about this choice and how do you think your Mastery of mathematics has influenced you in your approach of governance?

我听说您对数学非常热衷，例如像我们这样的人，度假时会放松和享乐，对吧？但是我听说您在度假时会专门拿出时间，去研究未解决的数学问题，当地媒体描述说“时不时地展露出您极客的一面”。回到您在剑桥的日子，一些教授说认为您成为一名政治家而不是一名数学家很可惜，因为您当时是数学界的一颗冉冉升起的新星。总理先生，您有没有后悔过这个选择呢，您认为您对数学的精通，对您治国理政的方式有什么影响。

I don't regret. I was not a rising star, I was a promising student. 

我没有后悔。我不是一颗冉冉兴起的新星，当时只是一个有挺有前途的学生而已。

You're very …… being modest. No

您太谦虚了。没有啦

It's a vast field, I did two undergraduate years in mathematics, so it's just a…… barely at the foothills. I enjoyed it, I was not bad at it, but there are many more talented and brilliant mathematicians in the world than me, and um, I decided that I had a responsibility to come back to Singapore and be part of Singapore and do what I could to help the country to succeed.

数学是一个浩瀚的领域，我读了2年数学本科课程，所以，我连入门都不算。我很喜欢数学，我学得还不错，但世界上有太多比我有天赋比我才华横溢的数学家，我最终还是觉得我有责任回到新加坡，成为新加坡的一员，尽我所能帮助国家取得成功。

You're not only very passionate about mathematics and also…… I think you not only believe in persistence and also by keeping an open mind you also think hope sometimes is very well needed, because in your National Day rally in 2021, you quoted a song“春天里”and you even sung a little bit.

您不仅对数学非常热衷，而且相信坚持的力量，还保持开放的心态，而且认为，有时还必须保持希望，在2021年的新加坡国庆大会上，您引用了一首歌《春天里》的歌词，您还唱了几句。

Yes,no no I can't 

是的，但我不太会唱歌

I know, I know but you sung a little bit, like, 

我知道 但是您唱了一点，春天里百花香……

But you… what you really care is about the scripts at the very end right it's um, why did you decide to quote that specific line for that very special occasion.  

但您真正在意的是歌词的末尾部分，对吧？不用伤，前途自有风和浪，莫彷徨，黑暗尽处有曙光。您为什么决定在那个非常特殊的场合引用这句歌词呢

Because we were in COVID, we were coming out of COVID hadn't quite emerged from the tunnel yet, but there was in fact light in front of the tunnel. And I thought that was something which I should remind Singaporeans because you could see the light there, and yet it was still necessary for the government to take some measures to to keep things tight. And we could not relax our measures yet and we needed to encourage people hang on, the dawn is coming.

因为我们当时正处于新冠疫情时期，刚刚走出疫情，还没有走出隧道，但隧道前方确有曙光。我认为我应该提醒新加坡民众，我们已经可以看到前方的曙光，但政府仍需要采取一些措施，我们还不能放松防控措施，我们需要鼓励人们坚持下去，黎明即将到来。

So what about now, what do you think are urgently needed at this specific timing？

那么现在呢？在这个特定的时刻，你认为我们迫切需要做什么？

There are new issues in the world post COVID. And it, we are not able to take a holiday after COVID. You have to come back and the term has started again, we work again.

在后疫情时代，世界上有新的问题出现，疫情之后，我们也无法松懈。你必须回来，一个新的周期又开始了，我们又要解决新问题了，

So you don't have vacation time to look into some unsolved mathematic problems.

所以您就没有假期去研究一些未解决的数学问题了。

Well, I take, I do take breaks from time to time but, the mind can't completely switch off. 

但我会时不时地休息一下，但没有办法完全把大脑放空。
