On my dashboard (仪表盘）there is a gas/fuel gauge [ɡeɪdʒ]（燃料表）. Right now, the gas gauge is closer to "E".If your car is low on gas, you will see a fuel/gas light appear.

In U.S. gas stations加油站 ,you can often find little convenience stores便利店.The term gas is short for gasoline.

Diesel fuel 柴油 is not that common in the U.S. for ordinary cars.
The word"petrol" is not used in the U.S..
Now that I've pulled up to the pump把车停到了了油泵前, I need to open the fuel door打开油门. In the U.S., we have self-service自助式 gas stations. A long time ago, full-service gas stations were common.
I'm going to pay at the pump在加油机上付钱, but I could also pay inside进店付.I find it more convenient to pay by card 刷卡支付at the pump.
Using my card, I can choose to pay debit or credit.I will have to choose which grade I want for my car.
