hMPV属于肺炎病毒科,偏肺病毒属,为有包膜的单股负链RNA病毒,平均直径大约200nm。hMPV包括A和B两个基因型,可分为A1、A2、B1、B2四个亚型,这些亚型常常同时流行,各亚型病毒传播力和致病性未见明显差别。

hMPV对热敏感,60℃ 30分钟可灭活;对乙醚、氯仿等有机溶剂敏感;1%次氯酸钠等含氯消毒剂、5%福尔马林、2%戊二醛、1%碘伏等常用消毒剂可灭活病毒;对0.1%脱氧胆酸钠、十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)和曲拉通X-100(TritonX-100)等去污剂敏感。

HMPV属于肺病毒科,偏肺病毒属,有包膜的单股负链RNA病毒。2001年,由荷兰学者首次从未知病原体引起呼吸道感染患儿的鼻咽抽吸物样本中检出。血清学研究表明其存在至少60年,在世界各地均有分布,是常见呼吸道病原体之一。

HMPV主要通过咳嗽和打喷嚏产生的飞沫或气溶胶传播,与感染者密切接触和接触病毒污染的环境也可能造成传播。一般来说,感染后潜伏期约3-5天,HMPV诱发的免疫保护较弱,反复感染常见。HMPV全年均有检出,但以冬春季检出率最高。此外,HMPV感染也可以引起暴发流行。
