Get Up

1. stand up 站起来  

2. get out of bed 起床

3. get dressed 装扮,打扮

例句:get up in a nice costume for the festival. 为节日穿上盛装


Get Down

1. lower your body until you are sitting, kneeling, or lying on the ground. 弯下身 (坐下、跪下、趴下)

例句:"Get down! Somebody's shooting!"  快趴下!有人开枪了!

2. (slang) enjoy the music, dance and party (英语俚语) 放松身心,尽情唱跳摇摆

例如后街男孩有一首歌就叫《Get Down》,第一句就是“get down, get down, and moving all around"


Get Away

1. leave 离开某人,某地 

如: get away from someone/somewhere

2. go on vacation 外出度假

例句:He is too busy to get away. 他忙得没有时间外出度假。

名词getaway指适合度假的地方


Get Over

1. If you get over an unpleasant or unhappy experience or an illness, you recover from it. (从不快或疾病中) 恢复过来

例句: It took me a very long time to get over the shock of her death. 

2. If you get over a problem or difficulty, you overcome it. 解决问题/困难

例句:How would they get over that problem?


Get Off

1. remove 移走,拿开

例句:get the book off the table 把书从桌子上拿走

get your hand off me 把你的手从我身上拿开

2. If someone who has broken a law or rule gets off, they are not punished, or are given only a very small punishment. 逃脱惩罚

例句:He is likely to get off with a small fine. 他可能会逃脱惩罚,只交一小笔罚金了事。

3. leave 离开

例句:get off here 离开这

4. (slang) get really excited about someting (英语俚语)对...感到高兴兴奋

例句:he gets off on rock music 听摇滚乐会让他兴奋


Get On

1. get on /train, bus, ship 上船,公交,火车 

2. get on board;  join in 参与某事,加入到某个群体

例句: He wants me to get on aboard with plan.


Get In With

1. become a part of a group 融入到某个群体中

例句:I get in with the poplular kids at the school 


Get Through

1. finish, complete 完成

get through the homework 完成作业

2. If you get through a difficult or unpleasant period of time, you manage to live through it. 熬过

get through the cold winter 熬过冬天

3. succeed in contacting someone on the telephone. 用电话联系上某人

例句:I can't get through to this number. 这个号码打不通

4.  a law or proposal officially approved by something such as a parliament or committee. (法律或提案) 被通过

Such a radical proposal would never get through Congress.  如此激进的提案永远不会在国会获得通过


Get Between

1. physically put yourself between two things 身体处在两个物体中间

2. a problem between two people or two things 处在两个人或事物之间的问题

例句:if you married, dont let your mother-in-law get between you and your wife


Get Along (with)

1. be friendly with 和某人合得来

例句:I get along with Tom/me and Tom get along 我和Tom合得来
