如何帮助小胖威利过渡想法?

小胖威利患者通常很难从一个想法或活动过渡到下一个,那该如何帮助一个患有小胖威利的人过渡想法呢?


1.提示结束关于某个话题的对话。例如,“谈论某某很有意思。你可以再说一件事,然后我们再讨论。”


2.在进行下一个活动之前给出增量提示。例如提示符,“还有五分钟我们就得走了。好了,还有3分钟我们就要离开了,所以开始收拾你的书吧……好的,一分钟。所有的东西都应该收起来。穿上你的鞋。”


3.可视计时器可能很有用。例如鸡蛋计时器或会发出哔哔声的时钟。

通常口头暗示就足够了,就像上面例子中的那些。

People with PWS often have a difficult time transitioning from one thought or activity to the next.


How can you support a person with PWS? 


Give prompts to end a conversation about a particular topic: 

“This has been fun to talk about xyz. You can say one more thing and then we will talk about something else.” 


Give incremental prompts before moving to the next activity. For example prompt, “Five minutes before we need to leave... Ok, 3 minutes before we need to leave so start putting away your books... Ok, 1 minute. Everything should be put away. Get your shoes on.” 


A visual timer can be useful- such as an egg timer or a clock that beeps.

Often verbal cues will suffice like those in the example above.
