铅硼聚乙烯是采用了金属铅粉+碳化硼（B4C）+高分子聚乙烯材料，根据配比要求 放入模具 里面，均匀搅拌升温后经过高温模压成型出板材。

模压工艺制成的铅硼聚乙烯厚板，化学成分均匀，力学性能达到使用要求，表面光亮平整，无压痕、折叠、层离和划伤，内部无裂纹或气泡，可作为反应堆的屏蔽材料。
