In 1958 Édith Selig recorded Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2 with the mezzo-soprano Eugenia Zareska, the Choeurs et Orchestre national de la Radiodiffusion française conducted by Carl Schuricht. She recorded Bach Cantatas with Fritz Werner, Heinrich-Schütz-Chor Heilbronn and Pforzheim Chamber Orchestra, including Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis, BWV 21, an early ambitious work, performed in Weimar in 1714 on the 3rd Sunday after Trinity. She also recorded with the same ensemble J.S. Bach's Actus tragicus (BWV 106) and Easter Oratorio (BWV 249). In the 1960’s she recorded J.S. Edith Selig, concertiste soprano, étudie au Conservatoire de Strasbourg (elle y obtient un premier prix de Chant), puis au CNSM de Paris (dont elle sort avec le premier prix de Chant et les prix d’Art Lyrique). Elle travaille ensuite avec Pierre Bernac. Edith Selig consacre surtout sa carrière au Concert, à l’Oratorio et à la Mélodie. Son répertoire s’étend des maîtres polyphoniques du XIVème aux œuvres contemporaines. Elle interprète fréquemment en anglais, allemand, italien et russe et se consacre volontiers à la création d’œuvres nouvelles. Parallèlement, Edith Selig est chargée de cours à Osaka, Hiroshima et Tokyo ; elle est également professeur de chant à l’Ecole Normale de Paris.
