Simon把新词和短语/习语(斜体)用不同的颜色标记便于大家学习:
绿色表示大学四六级以下,必须记住的,最好能会使用、解释或造句。
橘黄色:代表雅思难度,最好能够掌握并知道如何用,至少知道含义,能听懂看懂。想考雅思托福,红色绿色词汇一个都不能放过,都是常用词。
红色:代表不是我们每天都能见到的词,既然出来了说明用得上,最好能知道意思,不要求会使用,不会也不会有太大的影响,但是最好能记到笔记上。

很重要的一个词,和 early late 一起记忆 mid 80s 1984-1985 early 80s 1980-1883 late 80s 1987-1989 都是代表时间阶段的词。

swear: 另外一个意思 speak bad words like: fuxxing n.swearing
tamper: 注意不是 temper。means to interfere with sth by making changes that shouldn't be made.
stop + doing / stop to eat, stop to drink 你知道这2个区别么? 视频里面后面解释了

messy: in this context means challeging, difficult or confusing
go through sth: to experience sth, esp sth unpleasant or difficult.
ensemble: a group of people or things acting together as a whole. 这是一个难词
daunting: making you feel slightly frightened or worried about your ability to achieve something; challenging and hard to do.
unnerving: it makes you fell less confident and slightly frightened
: to be neck and neck (same level, have equal chance of winning,this expression comes from horse racing.)
egotistical: (disapproving)you think only about yourself
narcissist: someone who has too much admiration for themselves, too self-centred
