TIL that the Chinese equivalent of "when pigs fly" is "when the sun rises in the West." Other variants include "when the crayfish whistles" (Russian), "when the crow turns white" (Tagalog), "when the fish climbs the poplar" (Turkish), and "when it snows red snowflakes" (Hungarian).
今天我才知道，中文里相当于“猪都会飞了”的习语是“太阳从西边出来了”。其他变体还有：“小龙虾都会吹口哨了”（俄语），“乌鸦都变白了”（他加禄语），“鱼都会爬白杨树了”（土耳其语），“天上都下红雪花了”（匈牙利语）。

Chinese bring that quote to us long time ago.

Turtle beard, rabbit horn, frog horn. We use this saying when scammer try to sell magical things.
Like “that product is fake as turtle beard rabbit horn.

which is ironic because the statue of Columbus is not holding a finger up.

27、Hungarian one is also used in Turkish. My grandfather and my mum always uses this expression. I have never seen anyone uses "when the fish climbs...". "When it snows red snowflakes" is more common in Turkey.
