v. If you hoard things such as food or money, you save or store them, often in secret, because they are valuable or important to you. 贮藏 Synonyms(近义词):

cache, hive up, lay away, squirrel away, stash

e.g. They stand accused of deepening the gaps between the rich and poor, hoarding money in influence. 2.

aye

n. adv. If you vote aye, you vote in favour of something. (投票)赞成 e.g. By voting with the ayes tonight, you are showing the world that the voters and the leaders of tomorrow have had enough of billionaires and their crimes. 3.

culpability

stake

n. If you have a stake in something such as a business, it matters to you, for example because you own part of it or because its success or failure will affect you. 利害关系 e.g. Tese companies and the people who run them had a huge stake in Trump's tax plan. 8.

slash

v. To slash something such as costs or jobs means to reduce them by a large amount. 大幅度削减 v. Trump slashed taxes on the ultra rich, expanding their options when it came to tax avoidance. 9.

exacerbation

n. action that makes a problem or a disease (or its symptoms) worse 恶化 Synonyms:

aggravation

e.g. Billionaires are an exacerbation and a perversion of the growth economy. 10.

nerve

n. If you say that someone has a nerve or has the nerve to do something, you are criticizing them for doing something which you feel they had no right to do. 厚颜,放肆 e.g. All the same the ultrarich have the nerve to tell the developing world that they must change their habits. 11.

exponentially

adv. Use exponentially when you want to say that something's increasing quickly by large amounts. 以指数方式快速增长 e.g. Everywhere in the world, especially in the west, consumption and waste are growing exponentially. 12.

philanthropic

fall flat

fail completely to produce the intended or expected effect. 失败,达不到预想效果 e.g. Compared to the billions spent on destroying the environment and partisan lobbying, such laudable efforts just fall flat.
