潘岳在致辞中表示，要通过互联网传播中华文明，促进中外文明交流互鉴，助推构建网络空间命运共同体。应推动文明互鉴，避免误读误判；重建“文明叙事”，沟通对立观念；充分借势赋能，创新国际传播。他指出，西方公众并不是天生仇恨中国，妖魔化中国的浪潮真相大白后，迟早产生出大批当代的“马可波罗”，应苦练内功补短板，尽快去储备、培育、翻译一系列跨文化优质产品。要将中国故事用“跨文化”的方式“再翻译”，一个好方法就是文明比较，要敢于并善于正面回答最复杂最尖锐的问题。

We should promote inter-cultural exchanges to avoid misunderstanding, restart cultural communication to discuss different opinions, and make full use of the Internet to innovate international communication. He observed that, the Western public does not hate China inherently, when the demonization of China is over, there will be many modern Marco Polos sooner or later. We should cultivate our capabilities by preserving, nurturing and translating a series of intercultural products of high quality. Meanwhile, we need to retranslate China's stories in a cross-cultural way. Cultural comparison is a good way in this compaign. We need to build up the audacity and ability to directly answer the most complicated and acrid questions.
