智库（think tank）

智库，或叫政策研究所，是一个从事研究和宣传相关主题诸如社会政策，政治战略，经济，军事，技术和文化的研究中心。

（A think tank, or policy institute, is a research institute that performs research and advocacy concerning topics such as social policy, political strategy, economics, military, technology, and culture.）

根据宾夕法尼亚大学的统计，世界上一共有8000+家智库。

智库分为许多领域的智库，例如国防与国家安全、经济政策、教育政策、能源和资源政策、环境政策、外交政策和国际事务、国内卫生事务、全球卫生政策、国际发展政策、国际经济政策、科学与技术政策、社会政策、透明度和良好治理、食品安全、水安全等领域。
